CUSTOMER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Investment Management & Control (IM&C) System – Release Version 1.10.1 1.
Make sure your agency is running IM&C version 1.10 before proceeding. You can check the system version on the login page of the product.

Backup the System’s Database – Before applying any system release, please create a backup of the existing IM&C system’s database. Please make sure there are no users in the system before creating the backup in order to avoid locking issues. a. To create a backup, go to the SQL Server where the IM&C DB resides and proceed to open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. Locate the IMC database in the list of databases available. Right click the “IMC” database and select “Tasks” and then “Backup”.

The “Back Up Database” window below, may already show a default backup location and name in the “Destination” panel from previous backups. If the “Destination” panel is empty, then simply click the “Add” button and type the location and name for the new IM&C backup file.
c. Click “Options” from the “Select a page” panel on the left side of the window and make sure to mark the “Overwrite all existing backup sets” radio button (see screenshot below). This will prevent appending to an old backup file with the same name and it will create a brand new backup file.

d. Click the “OK” button on the window to proceed with the creation of the backup. Allow the process to complete. You will receive the following message box when the backup completes:

Backup the System’s Folders – Before applying any system release, please also create a backup copy of the existing IM&C system’s folder structure in the products Web Server. Please copy the root “IMC“ folder containing all subfolders listed below:

Download and run the Installation executable – Please proceed to download the installation package from the “Software Releases” section of our web site: www.myemphasys.com. Run the executable directly on the Web Server where IM&C resides. After double-clicking on the executable, simply follow the wizard and allow the installation process to conclude (refer to screenshots below for more details).

If your agency currently owns the Emphasys Funding Application Portal or plans to install it for the first time after the IM&C update select “Yes” and proceed to enter the requested FundingApp path/URL; otherwise, select “No” to proceed with the system upgrade:

Modify the default URL below with the correct URL/path of your agency’s Funding Application Designer Portal (change the “server” portion of the defaulted path while maintaining the remaining portion of the default path shown on the installation wizard screen below), then click “Next” to proceed:
