Situated throughout the exposition floor, IN/SITU provides a dynamic opportunity for EXPO CHICAGO exhibiting galleries to showcase large-scale, site-specific, and performative works by leading international artists. Installed within the vast architecture and vaulted ceilings of Navy Pier’s iconic Festival Hall, the strength of the IN/SITU program is its ability to feature major suspended installations in addition to large scale work. This exhibition context should be taken into consideration when applying. Past curators include Diana Nawi (2016 | Associate Curator, Pérez Art Museum Miami), Louis Grachos (2015 | Dr. and Mrs. Ernest C. Butler Executive Director of The Contemporary Austin), Renaud Proch (2014 | Executive Director, Independent Curators International), Shamim M. Momin (2013 | Los Angeles Nomadic Division), and Michael Ned Holte (2012 | writer and independent curator).

CONDITIONS TO PARTICIPATE Galleries may propose more than one piece for consideration. Please provide an additional application form for each proposal. • • • • •
The number of selected projects are limited and decided exclusively by the IN/SITU Curator in co-ordination with EXPO CHICAGO. Acceptance of selected pieces for the program will be confirmed in writing. Exhibitor to cover shipping costs to and from the exposition Exhibitor to cover installation costs Works may not change placement or be removed during the run of the exposition once installed The IN/SITU program is governed by the terms and conditions of EXPO CHICAGO, as outlined in the EXPO CHICAGO Regulations, Terms and Conditions. Exhibitor will be required to provide Certificate of Insurance demonstrating coverage for works installed outside of their booth.

Exhibition space Standard lighting (additional lighting may be requested at exhibitor’s expense) Signage Marketing inclusion in EXPO CHICAGO printed materials as well as related press releases and announcements Assistance for special installation requirements (ie. specialty venue equipment) will be be available on a limited basis at the discretion of EXPO CHICAGO
