December 3, 2017

We’re glad you’ve joined us this morning! Feel free to check things out and determine whether we might be a good match for you. We’re here to help at your invitation—you set the pace. When you’re ready for the next step, consider checking out an additional Sunday activity like Bible Fellowships or Community Groups, or a mid-week study that interests you. There are many great ways to connect with others in our church family each semester as you grow in your relationship with Jesus. Pick up a Guide to Grace Church as you leave for more details!

If you would like to serve with our church family as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer on December 9, you can sign up for a time slot in the Main Hall this morning.

Tonight is the final meeting of Community Groups for the fall semester. These small groups begin meeting again on January 14. Contact your life stage pastor if you’d like to get involved!

A red card with the complete schedule of Christmas and New Year activities happening in the month of December is now available. You can pick one up at any exit around the building.

Next week, we’ll begin a three-week series considering the deep devotion to God’s plan demonstrated in the lives of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus—The Humble Glory of Christmas.

Christ prayed for all those who would come to Him through the ministry of the apostles— John 17:20–23.

________________________________________ ________________________________________

A. Those for whom Christ prays includes all those who would come to faith in Christ through the ministry of the apostles, whether oral or written—John 17:20.

________________________________________

B. His prayer for us includes that we have the same unity that He asked His Father to provide for the apostles—John 17:21a; see John 17:11.

________________________________________

C. The impact of that kind of unity, focused on loyalty and love for the Father and for Christ and for one another, provides a convincing witness to the world—John 17:21b; see John 13:34–35. D. The Savior prayed that believers through the generations would share in His glory that comes from Him dwelling in us—John 17:22.

Such unity in the lives of believers has the power to convince the world that Christ was sent from God and that the Father loves us just like He loves the Son—John 17:23.

II. Christ prayed that all of those who would come to faith in Him would share life with Him in heaven and see the glory that He had before He came to earth—John 17:24.

III. Christ reaffirmed that both He and His disciples know the Father in a way the world does not—John 17:25. IV. Christ longed for those who are His and in whom He would dwell to be immersed in the same love with which the Father loved Him—John 17:26.
