A WORLD LEADER IN INNOVATION & HIGH PERFORMANCE FABRICS
Seaman Corporation today is recognized as a world leader in innovative high performance fabrics for a variety of markets. Consistently growing over better than a half-century, Seaman has manufactured more than one billion square feet of high quality fabrics that set an industry standard in reliability and durability.
DRAWING ON OVER 55 YEARS OF TECHNOLOGICAL ACHIEVEMENT Tracing our roots back to 1949, we are extremely proud of the proprietary Seaman Corporation processes that create high quality fabrics, frequently performing in the harshest environments and for many decades. Our many years of technological and engineering success have proven to be valuable as we continue to develop new products to meet evolving market demands.
Controlling quality with a vertically integrated process We believe that the best way to truly ensure the quality of finished Seaman Corporation product is to control the manufacturing process from beginning to end. We mix all of our own coating compounds and we knit and weave our own base fabrics in our

state-of-the-art facilities. Further, we employ a team of experienced professionals in our in-house laboratory to perform rigorous product testing, research and development. Vertical integration not only allows us to control the entire manufacturing process, it helps maximize product performance and assure consistent quality in every roll of fabric we ship.
1958 “Masterbatch” formulation for truck tarp fabrics is developed.
Proud of our U.S. heritage All Seaman Corporation fabric is manufactured in the United States at two comprehensive plants—one in Wooster, Ohio, where we maintain our corporate headquarters, and a second full production operation in Bristol, Tennessee. Both plants are equipped with the most modern,

OVER 30 YEARS OF PROVEN PERFORMANCE LONG BEFORE THE FIRST SQUARE FOOT OF FIBERTITE WAS PRODUCED Knowledge gained across many markets—architectural, truck tarp, geomembrane, recreational fabrics and military applications—goes into every square foot of FiberTite Each square foot of FiberTite benefits from the more than 30 years of proven fabric technology that preceded the manufacture of our first roofing membrane. That’s why, from the very first day of production and the very first roof installation, we were fully confident of FiberTite’s ability to withstand the harshest environments imaginable. That’s also why most of our first roofs are still performing today, and why it was never necessary to alter the first successful FiberTite formula.
Winning the trust of the U.S. Military We are proud of the fact that the U.S. Government relies on us to deliver the finest possible fabrics for its military tents, collapsible fuel tanks, potable water tanks and other applications. The same qualities that won our government approval—exceptional tear strength, adhesion, chemical resistance and more—are evident in the quality of our FiberTite roofing systems.

SOME CALL IT A STROKE OF GENIUS: CONTRARY TO HOW THEY MIGHT LOOK, ALL MEMBRANES ARE NOT FORMULATED EQUALLY Our proprietary design that starts with the strongest base fabric It’s the foundation of superior FiberTite performance—and far different from the open weave “scrim” that other manufacturers use, FiberTite’s base fabric is much more tightly knitted, adding considerable strength and durability to the completed membrane. But the base fabric is just the beginning of a proprietary process that creates a molecular bond between all layers of our membrane, inhibiting delamination and wicking issues that plague other roofing products. The end result is a roofing membrane with performance characteristics that exceed what “thicker” membranes can provide.
STEP BY STEP, WE WON’T SETTLE FOR ANYTHING LESS THAN THE VERY BEST Fabric with exceptional puncture and tear resistance In addition to being the most densely packed polyester fabric available anywhere, we also use the highest strength yarn. Coupled with our proprietary knit design, our membrane delivers exceptional puncture and tear resistance. And, as our membranes get thicker, our fabric gets even stronger.
An adhesive coat for maximum seam strength Next, we apply a unique adhesive coat that literally encapsulates each yarn, promoting a molecular bond between the base fabric and the front and back coats. This adhesive coat not only inhibits wicking, it also provides maximum peel resistance and seam strength—advantages our competitors cannot achieve by simply creating a “strike through” adhesion between coats.
Back coat provides superior welding The third step in our process is the application of a back coat. The back coat was specifically formulated to provide superior welding properties, effectively maximizing seam strength.
The face coat without equal for chemical resistance and long-term flexibility The final step in this monolithic membrane is the face coat. Elvaloy and many other ingredients uniquely combine to provide unmatched resistance to chemicals, not to mention the industry’s best long-term flexibility in any climate—critical keys to membrane reliability.

FACT: OVER 99% OF ALL FIBERTITE ROOFING SYSTEMS ARE STILL PERFORMING Our track record speaks for itself. And we are proud of that fact that we can point out many roofs that now are well over 20 years old. And still performing effectively, season after season.
Full performance, even in harsh UV and chemical environments
Adhesive Coat
FiberTite roofing membranes have been installed on some of the most difficult roofs imaginable. From incredibly hot environments that have intense UV rays, to food processing plants that expel some of the harshest chemicals, fats and greases, FiberTite consistently performs without membrane failure.
The proper amount of Elvaloy FiberTite exceeds all of the physical property requirements of ASTM Standard D6574-02. Perhaps even more impressive ... FiberTite is the only membrane that meets the ASTM polymer content definition for Elvaloy.
Simply using Elvaloy in a formula does not automatically ensure that the membrane will provide the best protection possible. Although important, Elvaloy is only one component integrated into the complex Seaman formula. Correct integration of the correct amounts of various components work together to provide the optimum formula for a long-lasting roof.

THE RIGHT SOLUTION MAY REQUIRE MORE THAN ONE CHOICE... INTELLIGENT ROOFING SYSTEMS FOR YOUR UNIQUE REQUIREMENTS Mechanically attached Our membrane was commissioned “FiberTite” for a reason. When FiberTite was conceived, mechanically fastened single-ply roofing systems were beginning to gain acceptance in the marketplace. Seaman Corporation recognized the contribution that “Fiber” could provide in the overall performance of these systems. To this day, FiberTite is recognized as the toughest membrane available. In mechanically fastened roof scenarios, the fiber in FiberTite performs better than the fasteners that are engineered to hold it in place.
Custom “pre-fabricated” rolls Seaman Corporation offers the first patented roofing system utilizing factory-fabricated custom rolls with integrated fastening tabs engineered into the roll. These “pre-welded” rolls can be sized to cover up to 2,000 square feet. Our systems have expanded to include custom rolls with tabs up, tabs down and no tab configurations. Building owners and contractors both enjoy the efficiency and security that comes from having more than 70% of the roofing system pre-welded in a controlled factory environment.
Adhered roofing systems Not all roof decks are suited for mechanical attachment. To address these situations, FiberTite engineered a complete line of bonded, or adhered, roofing systems. From polyurethane insulation adhesives to water-base adhesives for use with our fleece-back membranes, there’s a FiberTite solution for any roofing challenge.
Asphalt adhered roofing systems FiberTite fleece-back membranes can also be adhered with hot asphalt. This method is often an ideal approach for re-roofing over an existing, smooth surface, built-up roof.

COMPONENTS TO COMPLETE A TOTAL INTELLIGENT ROOFING SYSTEM A truly intelligent roofing solution must include a complete system, specifically designed for your roof. Obviously, that process begins with a superior roofing membrane. But it also includes a full complement of accessories that are specifically designed and approved to augment the performance of the membrane, creating a successful system. Seaman Corporation offers a complete line of authorized accessories including flashing components, high quality adhesives and engineered plate and fastener components. A few of those components follow:
Plates and fasteners All roofs need to withstand extreme wind forces and uplift issues. Seaman Corporation offers a specialized inventory of fasteners and stress plates to complement all of our roofing systems. Our Magnum fasteners and stress plates were specifically designed for our mechanically attached roof systems, providing maximum “hold down” strength during high wind events.
Adhesives FiberTite has a complete line of quality adhesives, each engineered to work with specific roofing substrates, assuring a full life of the roofing system. Applied according to factory recommendations, adhesives are designed to work on concrete roof decks, base sheets and properly prepared “smooth” bituminous roof systems.
Flashing Available pre-formed components include pipe flashing up to six inches in diameter and inside and outside corner flashings. These injection molded accessories are designed to be hot-air welded for maximum leak protection. Seaman Corporation also provides non-reinforced membrane in 48-inch and 24-inch rolls for field fabrications.

REVOLUTIONARY THINKING: THE REAL COST OF A ROOFING SYSTEM IS MORE THAN JUST THE INITIAL EXPENSE Lowest initial cost does not necessarily mean lowest total cost They say you can’t judge a book by its cover; you also shouldn’t make a roofing decision based solely on its initial cost. FiberTite roofing systems are proven to require minimal maintenance, virtually no repair costs, and significant energy cost savings versus a black roof.
Over the long haul, FiberTite is your lowest cost membrane. The FiberTite cost analysis depicted below only shows directly related hard numbers. In addition, the potential for considerable indirect costs associated with a poorly performing roofing system is significant. Consider the impact higher employee costs, downtime, damage to equipment or facilities, as well as increased risk and liability could have on your bottom line.

Energy Star and Cool Roof compliant FiberTite is both Energy Star and Cool Roof compliant. In the U.S., annual cost savings typically range from seven to twenty cents per square foot versus a black roof. Over the life of your roof, your cost savings can be significant, as illustrated in the above example.
A roofing system designed to meet LEED’s Green Roof standards The U.S. Green Building Council was created to develop standards for high-performance sustainable buildings that demonstrate environmental leadership in the building industry. FiberTite roofing systems conform to all LEED standards, remaining environmentally friendly while facilitating energy cost savings.

IF YOU ACTUALLY NEED TO FILE A CLAIM, WE BELIEVE A WARRANTY IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE PEOPLE WHO STAND BEHIND IT The FiberTite warranty, in fact, measures up favorably with any in the industry. But more important than the number of years a warranty covers is the historical performance of the membrane—a measure of the probability that you’ll ever need to file a claim—and the people who stand behind it.
Consider these facts about FiberTite historical performance: • Over 99% of all FiberTite roofs ever installed are still protecting buildings. • FiberTite warranty commitments amount to far less than one-half of one percent • of our annual FiberTite sales—a level, we’re told, that’s the lowest in the industry. • Seaman Corporation’s associates are some of the most experienced in the • industry, attentive to your need for optimum quality and responsive, • knowledgeable customer service.
Gail force winds, hail, ponding water, oil and grease... all NOT excluded from the FiberTite warranty Sometimes what a warranty does not cover tells you more about the manufacturer than about the terms. The standard FiberTite warranty does not exclude things like gail force winds, hail, ponding water, oil and grease and more.
