DPR Pilot Specifics • Fall Season – 2016; In-season only for current leagues by primary and secondary season • Focus on allocation • Allocation will be based on the number of teams from the previous fall season • Allocation will be based on the number of teams that DPR recommends can practice/play games per field

• DPR will not alter game time, but practices/time may be adjusted • Start/end times will be consistent across leagues • Leagues will be given a “cushion” to accommodate their teams and weather • Leagues will receive blanket permit (similar to the past) 4

DPR Pilot: League Responsibility • Leagues provide – team data from fall 2015 • Leagues will need to let DPR know which time blocks are games v. practices • Leagues may adjust their schedules within their time block • Leagues must “turn back in” any unused space • DPR will gather feedback before, during, and after the season

5

Pilot Timeline • June – Continue to work on the allocation model internally and with groups • July – Start to discuss individual group allocations

• August – Send permits via email • September – Seasonal start*, permits will run the course of your normal season

* Leagues that start in August, will receive permits for pre-September space through a different process

6

On-Going Policy Work: GreenPlay Recommendations • GreenPlay recommendations will be considered in policy development: • • • •

Tier System Seasons of Play including Primary v. Secondary Defined Activities per Week New Sports

• DPR plans to tailor these recommendations to meet specific needs – Examples: • Accommodate seasonal dates • Break out activities by sport and not just age • Provide competitive leagues space within organization permits (not broken out separately)

7

On-Going Policy Work: Sports Commission Participation • DPR will engage the Sports Commission to advise on specific policy issues – for example: • Residency Requirements • New Sport Process

• DPR will develop policy details to include preseason activities, tournaments/special events, and communication timelines

• Sport User Groups will be asked for input during this process, including pilot feedback

8

Future Goals • Review Fall and Spring Pilot Feedback • Draft and then vet the policy with the Sports Commission and User Groups • Implement Policy TBD TBD Post Spring & Fall Pilots Winter/Spring 2017 Fall 2016 & Spring 2017
