James Madison Legacy Project Secondary (mi ddle and high) teachers l ooking for a new way to teach the foundations of our government, the Constitution, and Bi l l of Rights need l ook no further! Tha nks to funding from the Center for Ci vic Education (via the U.S. Department of Education), a consortium between James Ma di son’s Montpelier, Rice Attorneys, a nd the Ma ryland Council for Ci vi c and History Education offers this opportunity for i ndepth professional development. Duri ng multiple PD events s panning the 2016-2017 Aca demic Year, participant teachers will dive deep i nto the acclaimed We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution text. Wi th the guidance of experienced scholars a nd master teachers, participants wi l l leave understanding the We the People curri culum and ready to i mplement i t. Duri ng and after your professional development, we will be there to s upport you. Join us!

What is Included?
Textbooks and Resources: Ea ch pa rticipant will receive a classroom s et of We the People textbooks (30 s tudent books, 1 tea cher’s edition) and a s election of primary s ource readings on the Constitution
Intensive, Content-Rich Professional Development Programs: Al l ta ught by na tionally recognized scholars
Accommodations, Meals, and Travel Stipends: Provi ded for multi-day PD events
Recertification Points: Educa tors will receive documentation of all professional development hours to be used towa rds recertification
Opportunities for Regional and National Networking
Monetary Stipend: Awa rded upon completion of James Madison Legacy Project requirements
