Jan. 19, 2018 Kindergarten & First Grade Vocal Concert Rescheduled The Kindergarten & First Grade Vocal Concert that was scheduled for Thurs., Feb. 15 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the Haven Grade School Gym.
The HGS PTO is hosting their 2nd annual-Donuts with Dad on Tuesday, January 23 from 7:30 a.m.-8:00 a.m. This event will be held in the grade school gym and will be a come and go event for kiddos and their dads.
Sickness at Haven Grade School Due to the increase of sickness at Haven Grade School, we would like to emphasize how families can help minimize the spread of illness. If your child shows any of the following symptoms, please keep them at home: Severe cough or sore throat, temperature of 100 degrees or above, nausea or vomiting, & diarrhea Students who have been running a fever should not return to school for at least 24 hours after the temperature returns to normal.

Second Grade will be celebrating Kansas Day on Friday, January 26. Students will be dressed in pioneer clothing and performing songs and dances in the lunchroom at 2:30 p.m. Ya’ll are welcome to attend! Yee-haw!
Box Tops for Education is a great way for you to get involved with helping our school earn money. For every label we collect, Box Tops for Education will give our school $0.10! In fact, our school just received a check in the amount of $443.42. Every Box Top you collect helps our school purchase things we might not usually have the funds to purchase. All you have to do is turn your box tops into the office or your teacher.
LOST & FOUND The lost & found continues to grow at Haven Grade School. Please label your child’s belongings, including jackets, sweatshirts, coats, and lunch bags. Items that are found on school grounds are placed in the lost and found located in the cafeteria. The school secretary keeps smaller items, such as money or jewelry. Twice a year, unclaimed items are donated to a charitable organization.
Young People’s Concert
On Tuesday, January 23 the 4th, 5th, & 6th grade students will attend the Wichita Symphony Orchestra’s “Young People’s Concert.” This concert takes place at Century II Concert Hall in Wichita. After the concert, each grade level will be stopping at different restaurants for lunch so students will need to bring lunch money. It will be up to the classroom teachers to decide which restaurant they will be going to. If you have any questions, please call Haven Grade School at 620-465-2501.
