HEART OF KIWANIS VISION STATEMENT If we believe it - We will see it Heart of Kiwanis inspires Kiwanians to celebrate what is right about Kiwanis. It is designed to encourage Kiwanians to move forward with a vision toward the future. Through our projects built around the themes of fun, service, action, inclusion and relationships, we will engage in our communities and the world, increasing the awareness of Kiwanis and its dedication to service. We are celebrating what is positive and learning what it is that makes us successful. Kiwanians having fun through service projects, club meetings or social events is an important part of the Kiwanis experience. Through planning and preparation, we celebrate the laughter we share in Kiwanis. SERVICE: The most important reason for joining Kiwanis the ability to “give back.” The most common story among Kiwanians is that luck played a part in their success and they felt they should share that success with those in need. The ability to do service that helped children was a bonus that many had not seen initially, but now understand how powerful that can be. Without meaningful service the other themes seem hollow. ACTION: Everywhere you look in Kiwanis someone is doing something of value in the community. Whether you talk with a K-Kid student or a senior club member, they all say that we support youth and community, and that is an important reason they enjoy the Kiwanis experience. Action is inexorably tied to the other themes and is a part of the DNA of Kiwanis members. INCLUSION: Kiwanians are proud to embrace inclusiveness. We welcome everyone into the Kiwanis Family that embraces our mission and values. Our common bond is that we all have a heart to serve. We are proud of our Service Leadership Programs and extend a warm welcome to all who honor our purpose. RELATIONSHIP: Relationships are formed within our clubs and continue to grow and develop outside of the Kiwanis Club. Meaningful relationships are formed with people of all ages through our K Family: K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, Circle K, Aktion Club, Kiwanis Club and the Golden K. All these themes work together to form the Kiwanis experience and all are vital to a successful Kiwanis club. THE 6 OBJECTIVES OF KIWANIS The six permanent Objects of Kiwanis International were approved by Kiwanis club delegates at the 1924 International Convention in Denver, Colorado. Through the decades, they have remained unchanged. To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life. To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships. To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards. To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship. To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities. To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion of high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and good will.
