Quilting Resolutions It’s hard to believe that it is 2013 already! We hope you had a wonderful December. Mine was a whirlwind of events including many Christmas and New Year’s parties, family visits and a wedding! Do you find that you don’t quilt much during December? Other than finished up a few Christmas presents, my machines sat unattended for most of the month. Now is the time to dust them off and get quilting! I’m not much on New Year’s Resolutions, but might just make a few Quilting Resolutions this year like….
Take a Quilting Class— this is such a no brainer!
Organize my fabrics- this is a never ending goal. Just when I think I’ve got a perfect set up, I bring home another pile of fabric! But it is ever so much fun to fondle and refold my beauties! I even rediscover a few fabrics I’ve forgotten.
Finish my UFOs— OK, OK, perhaps this should read Finish SOME of my UFOs! I have one quilt on my design wall that has almost been done for months! A couple of borders and it’s a wrap. I wonder why I can’t just seem to finish it? I just found a backing fabric, so that may help some. Do you have any projects like this?
Work on my Baltimore Album Quilt! One block down, many more to go….
Give myself permission to start a brand new project, despite my UFO pile! This isn’t such a difficult resolution at all!
Here’s to 2013 Another Fabulous Year of Quilting!
January Classes Sew-n-Sews Portable Patchwork A new six session SNS series will start Tomorrow, January 9th. Frances is starting a new project from Portable Patchwork, but you can work on any project you like. This class meets every couple of weeks, so there is time for stitching in between classes. It’s a wonderful way to make sure you have time for hand piecing and fellowship with other quilters!
Next Step Beyond the Basics Series This six session series starts January 10th. Do you have trouble picking fabrics for a quilt? Would like to know more about curved piecing? Want learn more piecing tips and tricks? Learn a bit about machine and hand applique? Move beyond basic quilt setting? Then you should join Nancy and Paula as they take you Beyond the Basics of quilting.
Embroidery Club Are you a stitcher? Join Ann and friends for the Embroidery Club on January 12th for some stitching heaven! Give Ann a call to discuss project options.
Woolies Club Do you like to work with wool? We just love the table mats and other wool projects that this group turns out. The Woolies Club meets again on January 12th. Check with Paula to find out about the project for this woolie adventure.
Heart to Heart
A Valentine’s Special This is a new class with a quilt that is just in time for Valentine’s day. Frances will teach you how to use half square triangles to create this lovely heart quilt! Heart to Heart class meets on January 26th
