2017-2018 Alliance Coach Bio Name: Jessie Davis Professional Background: Jessie is currently a Processing Technician at a tissue bank in Nashville. Each day, she works with donated tissue to create bone grafts for people in need. Personal: Jessie is a Nashville native and attend school at Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet from 2003-2007 where she played volleyball, softball and ran track. Education: Jessie went to Bethel University (2007-2011) and played volleyball four years; she was awarded her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, with a minor in Psychology, and also got to be a student coaching assistant for a semester after her eligibility was done. Coaching: After being a student coaching assistant at Bethel, Jessie moved to Mississippi with her parents for a few years, where she was assistant coach at Brandon High School. Later, she moved back home to Nashville and found Alliance. She will be in her 4th season with the club, where she’s coached 14’s, 15’s and 17’s, as well as Fall League and Winter League teams. Coaching Philosophy: Fundamentals are key in her coaching process. She also believes, however, that it’s really important to have fun while learning. She thinks you should enjoy the game in order to be the best you can be, and she feels like it’s her duty as a coach to help kids do that. Playing Experience: She played at Hume-Fogg High School 4 years, played club at Impact VBC and Select VBC from ages 14-18, and then played at Bethel University for four years. She still plays as much as she can, whether sand or indoor. Top Volleyball Highlights: Captain, senior year of high school and college, and student assistant coach in college.
