Purpose of Job:
To assist the CEIAG & Extended Services Officer (CESO) in providing effective Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance to Lister School students. To assist the relevant AHT and CESO in the development of the Extended Services programme.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Operational Duties a)
Careers Information, Advice and Guidance Assist the CEIAG & Extended Services Officer (CESO) with the organisation and operation of programmes which enhance students’ understanding of the world of work. Assist the CESO with the organisation and operation of Year 11 ‘Post 16 Pathways Day’ and other work-related learning events and activities. Assist the CESO and ‘15 BillionEBP’ in ensuring students attend their scheduled ‘Next Steps’ interviews and Individual Action Plans are completed and recorded. Ensure that the Careers Library is kept up-to-date and well-stocked with Post-16 prospectuses, etc. Seek out opportunities to collaborate with Post-16 providers, including ensuring they conduct Assemblies for Year 11 at Lister Community School. Assist the CESO in planning and leading school visits to careers’ fairs, colleges, universities, business organisations, etc. Support the CESO in seeking out and co-ordinating both work-related learning opportunities and Post-16 opportunities for Years 7-11. Support the CESO with the organisation and operation of ELBA Business Action Group projects.
b) Extended Services Support the AHT Intervention and Enrichment and the CESO with the organisation, implementation and management of Super Learning Days. Support the relevant AHT and CESO in the facilitation of a Year 11 ‘Transition Day’. Support the relevant AHT and CESO in the facilitation of ‘Taster Days’ for Year 5 and Year 6 students. Support the CESO and the AHT Intervention and Enrichment with the implementation of the Community Fair.

Additional duties Maintain a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, politeness, tact, sensitivity and awareness in relation to all duties undertaken. Work within the framework of the school ethos, adhering to the Code of Conduct for staff at all times. Ensure that all communications are attended to promptly (with at least a holding response within 1 working day). Maintain high standards of professional behaviour and presentation. Any other duties commensurate with the grade which may be required from time to time. All staff are expected to take part in necessary training and staff development.
