High School Diploma or general

LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fume or airborne particles. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, extreme cold (including outdoors), extreme heat (including direct sunlight), risk of electrical shock and vibration. Work environment/conditions are to be considered harsh. The noise level in the work environment will vary from somewhat loud to extremely loud. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Employee may occasionally be required to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned. SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.

Employee must be reliable, dependable and required minimum supervision.

2. Neatness in appearance, courteous and tactful in dealing with other employees or the general public. 3. Must be very professional and maintain confidential information of sensitive nature. 4. Must exhibit proper work practices in maintaining a safe work area to insure the well being of not only the employee but fellow workers, students, facility and the general public as well. 5. Must currently possess a current Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or secure license within first ninety (90) days of employment. Employee must also have a clean driving record. 6. Applicant must furnish proper clothing for working with hot asphalt and wet cement. The applicant will on occasion be required to patch parking areas and finish cement. 7. Applicant may be required to perform duties in extreme adverse outside weather conditions for extended periods of times.

8. Applicant will be required to become proficient in the movement and placement of a variety of portable buildings. While performing these duties the applicant will also be required to work under and above these buildings. They will be required to work under those buildings with a minimum of ground to floor clearance and lift 75 to 100 pounds while sitting, kneeling or laying under these buildings. 9. On occasion must work above ground level on scaffolding, cat walks, ladders electric/hydraulic lift type trucks at heights not to exceed 65'. 10. Must be able to perform duties in all types of grass, weed, tree pollens, dirt and dust with no adverse reactions. 11. Will be required to become proficient in the safe handling, mixing and application of herbicides and pesticides with no adverse reactions. 12. Will be required to service, repair and maintain areas in and around sewage lagoons and sewage lift stations. 13. Will on occasion be required to work overtime hours as determined by the Director or Supervisor of Maintenance. 14. Must exhibit good communications skills towards Principals, Teachers, Food Service Personnel, Custodians and Students. 15. Must perform as part of an overall maintenance team working for the timely completion of all assigned tasks, and at times working in different departments. 16. Regularly must work in confined spaces above, below, and at ground level. 17. Should be skilled in proper time management. Should develop a working knowledge of vendors, purchase orders, work orders, and call-in work requests. 18. Shall become proficient in the safe, effective, efficient operation and use of a number of different pieces of equipment to include but not be limited to diesel/gasoline powered tractors and implements, sand blasters, ditch witch, sports field markers, back hoe, front end loader, and bucket/pole digger trucks.

19. Employee shall work in close relationship with Foreman - Building & Grounds in the scheduling, budgeting, maintenance, repair, and installation of Building & Grounds related projects. 20. Employee shall also be required to assist Foreman - Building & Grounds in the preparation of formal specifications for various Building & Grounds related projects. 21. Employee shall be proficient in the safe and proper setup and use of all types of scaffolding, ladders, and electric/hydraulic lifts. Employee shall also be required to train other employees in the safe operation of this equipment. 22. Employee shall be proficient in the layout and marking of all sports fields to regulation sizes. Employee shall also be required to produce a schedule for field marking of all sports fields prior to scheduled sports events as outlined/instructed. Employee shall also be required to train other employees in these areas. 23. Employee shall be proficient in the layout of concrete footings and slabs. Employee shall also be skilled in the setting of grade stakes and the preparation of site surfaces to allow the construction of concrete/cement forms and the actual pouring of concrete/cement. Employee shall also possess the ability to work from blueprint drawings as well as conceptual ideas in the forming and pouring of concrete/cement slabs, stem walls, footings, ect. Employee shall also be required to train other employees in these areas. 24. Employee shall be skilled in the reading and application of blueprints and representative drawings, interpretation of buildings, site work, cement/concrete slabs, stem walls, footings, ect. 25. Employee must be available for unscheduled, emergency call-back. 26. Employee must provide a reasonable method of communications during unscheduled, emergency situations with the Foreman – Building & Grounds, the Director and/or Supervisor of Maintenance & Construction, and other authorized Mid-Del staff members. 27. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Maintenance Director or Maintenance Supervisor.
