Ledyard Location Manager Operations Manager Exempt

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Manages the overall operations of the location and provides supervision of personnel. Responsible for promoting and providing products and services, which will ensure profitable fanning operations and satisfy member needs that enhance the cooperative's goals and objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned, I Operations A. Supervises the personnel and daily operations of tile location. B. Responsible for all equipment, equipment maintenance, and record keeping. Also having qualified people working on and operating the equipment. C. Responsible for the receiving and quality of grain, and the grain being settled on a timely basis. D. Maintain communication with supervisor concerning grain quality checks and available inventory. E. Responsible for the accurate billing of products sold and services provided. II Sales, Marketing and Customer Service A. Hires and identifies training needs and recommends salary adjustments related to work performance. B. Responsible for attaining sales and operations expenses and goals at location.  Make proper recommendations and applications of products sold  Know and use all resources necessary to make proper recommendations and applications of products sold.  Correctly identify resources for assistance.  Keep resource manuals accessible and current.  Ensure no product problem result due to your recommendation or installation.  Attend all product updates and service training sessions.  Knowing prices of products and services.  Be aware at all times the cooperative's prices on commodities and services and review with your supervisor as necessary.  Maintaining tile current market share.  Assisting in developing competitive marketing strategies. C. Maintains communication with local fanners and customers concerning commodity prices and trends. D. Is service oriented, E. Tries to solve problems or answer questions that customers may have (either from personal knowledge, or by referring the customer to the correct person). F. Works extended hours as requested by supervisor to ensure good customer service G. Continually upgrades and demonstrates knowledge of the job. H. Solicits new business and is responsible for maintaining a positive image of StateLine Cooperative within the community, I. Prepares budgets for fixed asset and rolling stock needed at location. J. Handles customer complaints smoothly.  Notifies supervisor of problems.  Solves the problem as soon as possible, either personally, or through communication with supervisor.  Refers larger problems to supervisor. K. Promotes StateLine Cooperative by maintaining a positive image and attitude.  Is always friendly, courteous and helpful,  Maintains clean, neat appearance.

III Efficiency A. Uses time and resources efficiently.  Also make suggestions to improve departmental efficiency.  Works efficiently to eliminate wasted time.  Ability to follow instructions.  Ability to offer suggestions to improve efficiency of processes or duties. B. Possesses problem solving capability and understand operational processes.

Safety and Environmental Protection A. Follow management directed quality assurance programs, B. Attends and actively participates on safety committee as requested by management. C. Attends safety meetings as requested by supervisor. D. Abides by all the co-ops safely and environmental policies and current industry standards.  Monitor's less experienced employees to ensure safe work practices.  Takes precautions to protect self, fellow employees and the environment.  May be required to weal' hearing protection, respirator, and/or other Personal Protective Equipment as required. E. Monitor the facilities to ensure a safe working environment for the employees and patrons, following company policy, OSHA and DNR regulations.

VI. General Duties A. Maintains open communication with supervisor, departments and fellow employees. B. Establishes personal performance goals and works toward these goals. C. Upgrades training by learning on tile job, attending schools or seminars, and/or reading product and industry information as requested by supervisor, D. Cooperates with other employees. E. Performs duties as requested by supervisor and other management that arc not covered in the document. F. Abides by policies set forth in tile employee policy manual.

Employee Growth and Development A. Update employees regularly on new product knowledge. B. Identify training needed for individual employees. C. Make recommendations to Human Resources based on the training needs. D. Complete and administer a yearly performance review with each department employee following management approval. E. Stimulate and develop positive morale and team spirit that leads to high productivity.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety ofinstructions furnished ill written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS: A valid CDL driver's license is required for this job.
