Niagara Region has a full-time Junior Engineering Technician (Traffic) position available within the Transportation Division. Job Summary: Design and prepare drawings for traffic signal installation and modification projects. Perform in-field base plan survey tie-in of project related data including utility locates. Develop traffic signal design drawings and perform in-field signal audits for PHM-125 Legal Approval Drawings. Review drawings, plans and reports for compliance with Regional standards. Qualifications Include: Completion of a 3-year community college program, with a diploma in Civil or Transportation Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Additional courses in AutoCAD Civil 3D are an asset. Eligibility for membership in the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) as a C. Tech or CET is preferred. Eligibility for certification with International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) in Work Zone Safety and Traffic Signal Design Levels I and II. Minimum of 1 year of experience in municipal/traffic engineering design, or suitable combination of education and related experience. Must possess strong skills related to the design of traffic signal systems Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and associated software such as Microsoft Office Applications, Windows, Computer Aided Design Drafting (CADD) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
