The Results at a Glance

Algebra I Benchmark Comparison Percentage of Students Scoring at Performance Bandwidths

In an effort to reach all student levels, teachers implemented a learning model featuring Revolution K12’s Algebra software. Students were separated by performance level into groups, rotating through three stations: • Explicit Direct Instruction: while the teacher demonstrated problems, students took notes and worked on practice questions in their math journals. • Small Group Activity: students participated in a targeted group activity with peer tutors supporting their classmates. • Computer Station: students worked on Revolution K12’s Algebra program for 30 minutes a day. Teachers used the reporting features to review student performance, enabling them to provide differentiated instruction.

The Results Performance increased across all bands over the 10-week implementation period: • Algebra proficiency grew 150% from the first benchmark. • There was a combined improvement of 39% in the Advanced, Proficient, and Basic bands. • Even students who struggled showed dramatic improvement as 80% fewer students scored Far Below Basic.
