[email protected] Nominet
Dear Sirs, In respect of, Contact Data Disclosure in the .uk WHOIS Nominet Consultation Document Starts: 12 March 2015 Closes: 3 June 2015 Rather than read through your 37 pages of what appears to be mind numbing drivel I will tell you how I thought things used to work. You registered a Domain Name, .co.uk, via a registrar and, if you were a 'non-trading individual' they would not publish your personal details. Of course if you lied your bollocks off then there would always have been the chance that if someone determined you had lied your bollocks off then they might report you and presumably Nominet would be down on you like a ton of bricks and... do bugger fuck all. I do assume you are the in the Chocolate Teapot Mould of an Average UK Authority. More recently I have found that as a 'non-trading individual' if I wish to register a domain name then I have to pay an extra.... From FreeZone,
£2.99 To avoid that data being published. Page 1) of 6)
I should point out that this appears to be endemic across 'the industry'. I have to pay extra to have the registrar not publish my details via Whois. I feel my 'privacy' is being ransomed. As a, poor, 'non-trading individual' I might consider that investing that £2.99 in a box of 'Felix As Good as it Looks' and putting that in Cade the Cat so he can shit it in the next door neighbours Rose Garden a better buy.
Strange to say Cade agrees with Me... I just hope the neighbour will not notice.

I do know about... http://www.nominet.org.uk/uk-domain-names/about-domain-names/domain-lookupwhois/opt-out but unfortunately...
Now I have not tried but I do not doubt that if I were to use Option 1) and put a request into my Registrar, and again I will stress that this will not only apply to FreeZone, then some greasy sales monkey will try to get me to pony up Cade's box of cat food for the 'privilege'.... So I'll try Option 2)
Page 3) of 6)
Hmmmm.... OK 'First time logging in'....
Well.. I can see this is rapidly going to turn into pants. I registered the domain name for the purposes of e-mail so the e-mail address I used to register it with is no longer my current email address. Presumably I now have to 're-establish' my identity...
No fucking Shit! That's two boxes of Gourmet Pearle and a pouch of Dreamies for Cade the Cat and he already knows where I live. If he found out I had tossed you his two boxes of Gourmet Pearle to prove I am who I am he would be more than slightly sulky.
Freezone know who I am. I've even set up an abuse e-mail address so they can spam me. Page 4) of 6)

From my perspective not only is my 'privacy' being 'ransomed' it is being 'held to ransom' and you are complicit. Money for old rope springs to mind. When did 'registrars' start offering 'privacy protection'? As to your present 'privacy' consultation all I might guess is that you are asking people how to milk a bit more money out of the system by allowing others to pay the gobshites on 'Some Beach Australia' money so they can set up 'Dodgy Company R Us' and spam or otherwise rape the fuck out of the rest of the planet with impunity via a .uk or .co.uk Domain Name. As suggested I have not read your 37 pages of 'drivel' so I cannot state for certain that the 37 pages of 'drivel' represent but given my Registrar, and others, can 'get away' with charging me with £2.99 ransom money for 'privacy protection'... I might only imagine that you are incapable of monitoring or controlling the situation as it stands, “Data validation: Nominet was able to match the registrant's name and address against a 3rd party data source on 10-Dec-2012” so you might as well be 'Chocolate Teapot' melt yourselves and go for it. After all getting in a dispute about stuff and such sounds beyond your capabilities so you might as well 'abdicate' and make it harder for everyone else.
Thanks for taking care of 'my privacy' and gifting my interest to Google. Really appreciated. Sincerely
Keith Alexander Mallen Page 6) of 6)
