A MESSAGE TO CAMPERS & PARENTS The objective of the Knights Basketball Camp is to provide campers the opportunity to improve their fundamental skills and develop their understanding of the great game of basketball. It is our goal to teach basketball and offer the finest basketball camp experience around. The camp will stress fundamental skills such as shooting, passing, ball handling, rebounding, individual offensive and defensive skills each day. Most importantly, we will focus on attitude development.

WHAT TO BRING
Kevin O’Connor has been the men’s basketball coach at Mid-Plains Community College (now North Platte Community College) for the past 32 years. In that span, 8 players have been named NJCAA All-Americans, 65 players have been named to the Nebraska AllConference team and 28 of those players were named to the All Region IX squad. Coach O’Connor holds two Region IX Titles and he has won 659 games at NPCC!
Every camper is to bring with them the appropriate basketball gear and shoes (t-shirt, shorts, socks, and shoes.)
O’Connor’s career began as an assistant to former Loyola-Marymount coach, Steve Aggers, at the College of Greta Falls, in Montana. Prior to taking over at North Platte Community College, he served as an assistant coach at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
CAMP STAFF In addition to members of the Knight’s Basketball staff, members of the North Platte Community College basketball team will serve as assistants and leaders in daily camp activities and drills. We offer an outstanding play/coach ratio and feature a veteran camp staff.
CAMP FORMAT The basketball camp will run for 3 hours a day. There will be instruction of basic basketball fundamentals: shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, foot-work, defense, and team play. In addition, we will add to the camper’s knowledge of the game through lectures, films, and demonstrations. League play and contest are also part of the basketball experience.
CAMP DIVISIONS For boys currently in grades 2 through 9, this camp consists of a morning and afternoon session each day. Campers currently in grades 2 through 5 are grouped in the morning session, which is from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, and junior high campers currently in grades 6 through 9 are grouped in afternoon sessions from 1:00 to 3:30 pm. There are no evening sessions and no overnight lodging is provided. The camp includes a good mix of fundamentals, drills, games, contests, and FUN! The focus of this camp is on total player development in a highly spirited environment.
BEFORE SENDING YOUR APPLICATION YOU SHOULD... 1. P rint neatly and fill out the entire application. 2. T he camp fee is $50.00 per person and must accompany each camp application. Make checks payable to: Kevin O’Connor. 3. H ave Parent/Guardian sign the permission slip.

Parental Permission I grant permission to the camp director, assistants, or assigned chaperones of the camp to act on my behalf for said minor: __________________________________________________ in granting permission for evaluation/treatment of minor medical problems. I understand that should a major medical problem arise, an attempt will be made to notify me by telephone. In the event that I cannot be reached, I hereby give my consent to such medical treatment as deemed necessary by a licensed physician. In addition, I hereby release North Platte Community College and all its employees from all claims on account of any injuries, which may be sustained by my son while attending the Knight’s Camp.
