History The tale started 2500 years ago, in ancient Greece, in a village by the name of Tanagra which was notorious for its graceful women. To honour their beauty and to celebrate their elegance, sculptors crafted exquisite statuettes which were discovered in 1870. Some of these antique pieces can be admired at the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of New York. A reproduction of one of these statuettes, which gives its name to the store, is displayed at the entrance of the boutique. The first Tanagra store opened in Kuwait in 1980 and became the ultimate destination for shopping through its network of sixteen stores in the Gulf region. 76
