Kleinwood Dolphins June 6, 2015 http://kleinwooddolphins.swim-team.us/
SPECIAL EDITION MARK YOUR CALENDAR:
DIVISIONALS June 20 Klein High School Natatorium All swimmers must check-in by 6:30 a.m.
Our team has been assigned Concessions. This is a great opportunity for us to earn money that contributes to keeping fees low and coaches’ pay competitive and paying expenses for running the team (equipment, awards, trophies, etc.). While this will be a benefit to our entire team, it means that we must work together as a team for it to be successful. WE NEED . . .
Each family with a participating swimmer needs to volunteer for at least 1 shift during the meet. NOTE: There will be an “Event Board” in the Commons area visible to the Concessions stand. You will know what event is in the water and can excuse yourself for a few minutes to go and watch your child swim. Sign into the team website. Click on Swim Meets and then the next to the Divisionals bar. FYI as you’re signing up…There are going to be 3 shifts. Shift 1: Events 1-28 Shift 2: Events 29-48 Shift 3: Events 49-78
CONCESSIONS What is the plan?
We’ll be serving breakfast, snacks and lunch items. Main lunch menu items are BBQ sandwiches and Chick-fil-A nuggets and sandwiches.
What can I do to help? Sign into the website, click on Parent Page under the
“Actions” tab and then scroll down the Volunteer lists to “Donations for Divisionals.” Click on the
next to it and
donate away. Donated items needed by Tues., Jun 16.
• We are grateful for every item, but because of the
expense of meat to feed 2000 people, we are offering a
small incentive for donating a large meat item (brisket or pork loin): donate one of these items and receive a volunteer credit AND free meal ticket for that day. We need to work together as a team and man the
Concessions tables. Please note that by signing up to help at Concessions, you will still be able to watch your child’s races. There will be an event board in the Commons area where
you will be able to see what event is in the water and can be excused for a few minutes to get to the pool and watch your amazingly fast Dolphin!
If you have one (or two) Crock-Pot or Roaster Oven that
can be used at the meet, please label it with your name and bring to the Clubhouse by Wednesday, June 17.
4-1-1 • All 6 teams in the C4 Division will compete against each other at the
same time. It’s a fun & FAST event. It’s the meet our swimmers have been practicing for, the one that really counts.
• So, yes, it’s fun & FAST, but let’s be honest, it’s also long. With 6
teams competing instead of just 2, this means an end time well into mid-afternoon.
• KHS Natatorium has a 25 yard, 8-lane pool,. Warm-ups will be 7-7:25 am in the big pool. The warm-up pool is strictly off-limits for the entire event.
• We will be guests at Klein High, so we follow their pool rules: NO face paint, NO colored hair spray, NO tattoos. Basically, the only thing allowed is a Sharpie.
• The waiting/family area will be in the Commons area (NOT the halls like last year — YAY!). No tents, no air mattresses. You’ll still need chairs.
• Spectators will need to find seats prior to the event and then go back to the Commons after their swimmer’s event. No “camping out” in the stands. Event boards will be set up in the Commons area to inform swimmers and parents of what event/heat is in the water.
• Special Divisionals T-shirts will be for sale soon. When we get the order form, we’ll email it to you ASAP.
