STARCHING

Read the following instructions before beginning. 1.Wash Basket and Handle using a mild detergent and warm water. Rinse several times in cool, clear water. Roll each piece in a clean terry towel and gently press out the excess moisture. Lay Handle flat and allow both pieces to dry completely. 2. Pour fabric stiffener in a resealable plastic bag. Do not dilute stiffener. Note: This method is permanent and will not wash out. 3. Immerse dry pieces in fabric stiffener, remove air, and seal the bag. Work solution thoroughly into each piece. Let soak for several hours or overnight.

BLOCKING

1.Remove Basket and Handle from solution and squeeze gently to remove as much excess stiffener as possible. Blot with a paper towel several times to remove excess from holes. 2.Cover the tissue box with plastic wrap and insert it in the Basket. Pin Basket at regular intervals to box, being careful not to split the threads when inserting pins between the stitches. 3. Cover blocking board with plastic wrap. With right side facing, lay Handle on blocking board and pin at regular intervals. 4. Allow both pieces to dry completely.

FINISHING

Glue Handle to Basket. Tie ribbon in a bow around flowers, leaves, and excelsior grass; glue to side of Basket.
