Product Information Absolute Software, a Value Added Reseller for Beijer Electronics, is pleased to offer the Absolute-DX Mobile Data Terminal. Built for vehicle systems integrators, the Absolute-DX is the ideal in-cab hardware for fleet management, dispatching, messaging, reporting, mapping, navigation and more. The Absolute-DX was designed to withstand the type of handling and environmental conditions encountered in vehicle use. The device is rugged, with the housing made of a blended polycarbonate and polyester resin. It can operate within a very wide temperature range from -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, which is probably more than a driver can handle. It is virtually immune to shock and vibration as well. The Absolute-DX runs Windows CE 5.0 Professional on an ultra-frugal AMD Geode GX 500 processor. The device comes with 128MB of RAM and 2GB of non-volatile memory. It has two USB host ports, a third USB port wired in a cable, as well two serial ports (one RS232, one RS232/422). Optionally available are a J1708/J1939 CANbus interface, a 4-line digital I/O block, and RJ45 LAN. The Absolute-DX is a rugged, reliable full-featured mobile data terminal.

Active RFID The RFID option extends monitoring & tracking to the level of individual cargo, pallets, trailers or packages. An RFID tag is directly attached to each unit to be monitored. This tag broadcasts a unique ID number, movement count and tamper detection events continuously - with a low power design providing 5 to 10 years of battery life in typical usage. The transmitted RFID data is received by a reader attached to the Absolute-DX for in vehicle use and/or by collection at monitoring choke points, such as a depot entrance or doorway. Decoded RFID identification and event codes are displayed within Absolute’s Fleet Information System, extending tracking coverage to even the smallest cargo items.
Engine Management The J1939 (CAN Bus) option connects directly to the vehicle’s engine diagnostic port and electronically collects digital engine data, performance statistics and vehicle diagnostic codes. Designed to meet the demanding requirements of SAE J1455, this option provides real-time feedback to fleet managers, operators and maintenance personnel. Thresholds and alarms can be configured on parameters including overspeed, excessive braking, fuel consumption, driver behavior and engine performance, with all J1939 parameters visible in Absolute's Fleet Information System.
