Ray Wells, Ph.D., Facilitator and Trainer
Ray is President of Wellbeing Systems, an Abington, PA consulting firm that uses appreciative, positive, strengths-based approaches for designing leadership, team, and organization development programs. Ray has designed and facilitated major Appreciative Inquiry change initiatives for the United Way, Penn State University, the Bryn Athyn Church, Lafayette College, Mount St. Joseph’s Academy, and a host of other organizations, large and small. In addition, Ray has trained Appreciative Inquiry facilitators for the Company of Experts in workshops at the University of New Mexico and the Community College of Philadelphia, and is a consultant for the Corporation for Positive Change. He also teaches Appreciative Inquiry in St. Joseph’s University’s Organizational Development and Leadership graduate program. He holds an M.A. from Bowling Green State University and a Ph.D. in applied social-psychology from Temple University, and can be reached at

About the workshops—Congregational teams of two to three are invited to accomplish: You’ll leave with a comprehensive overview of Appreciative Inquiry philosophy and processes Each attendee or group of attendees brings a project so that they can have real context for their work , You’ll understand and be able to use eight principles for being a successful change agent: o Leverage your strengths; complement your weaknesses. o Thoroughly understand the system you are working within. o Form a powerful project team and (if need be) a guiding coalition. o Communicating the vision. o Follow the bright spots. o Create a thorough (and flexible) project plan, including key milestones. o Plan for and create short-term wins. o Use your institutional and network assets to overcome challenges and obstacles. You’ll have new tools that can assist in managing change and accommodating resistance.
