A GUILD RECEPTION A reception for th e U n ity G uild w as held a t the home of M r. and M rs. C. E . B ell T h u rsd a y evening. M ay 19th. D e­ sp ite the th re a te n in g w eather a goodly nu m ber of our young people w ith “ T h e M o th e r” w as p rese n t, an d a m ost e n jo y ­ ab le evening of m usic, gam es, charades and an auction gave p le asu re to all. D u r­ in g th e auction the most fabulous prices w ere p aid for articles w hich w ere, w ell, u nique to say the least, b u t it w as the oc­ casion of much h ila rity . “ T h e B e lls” gave th e ir guests a jo y o u s an d ro y al w el­ come for w hich th ey are noted, and served th e crow d w ith d a in ty an d ta sty re fre s h ­ m ents. A n a d jo u rn m e n t w as m ade to the home of M iss E d n a L . C a rte r who lives n e a r, w here some m usic w as enjoyed. A fe a tu re of th e evening w as th e blessing of th e homes of M iss C a rte r and M r. and M rs. B ell, everyone p rese n t declarin g peace, p ro sp e rity and the ab id in g presence o f th e S p irit of T ru th .

AUXILIARY NOTES F rid a y , M ay 13th, proved to be a lucky d ay fo r th e A u x ilia ry fo r on th a t d ay a M usicale w as given u n d er th e auspices of our society w hich w as of unusual excel­ lence. T h e proceeds w ere fo r th e benefit of th e M usic F u n d . T h e m usicians who so k in d ly co n trib u ted th e ir services on th is occasion w ere a rtis ts in th e ir p ro fes­ sion an d th e evening w as one long to be rem em bered. A new m irro r has been p laced in the P a r lo r by th e A u x iliary an d now th e re will no lo n g er be h eard the wail from th e fem i­ nine p o rtio n of our congregations th a t “ T h e re is no p lace to see if my h a t is on s tra ig h t.” T h e m en also will ap p reciate th e o p p o rtu n ity to see if th e set of th eir ties is correct. T h e u n sig h tly discoloration on the east w all of th e A uditorium w ill soon be a th in g of th e p ast. T h e roof is now deemed to be w ate r p ro o f, and th e A u x iliary has placed an o rd er w ith th e d eco rato r to re­ new th e frescoing. T h e m onthly m eetings of th e A uxiliary are most in terestin g . E ac h woman of U n ity Society should be a m em ber an d en­ jo y th e p riv ileg es o f th e o rg an izatio n and help su stain its e ffo rts. Come and learn how th e Seed D im es grow. In the absence of our choir director, M r. A. C. P ees, la s t S u n d ay m orning, no a n ­ them s w ere sung. T h e choir, how ever, led th e congregation in several rousing hym ns an d M iss D oro th y H a tc h p lay ed an in ­ sp irin g violin solo. M r. P ees w ill be w ith us ag ain and w ill doubtless re tu rn from his sh ort vacation w ith still g re a te r en th u ­ siasm .
