Step 1 — Battery 

Slide the battery release up.



Remove the battery by lifting away from the case.

Step 3 — Case 

Remove the 2 screw covers next to the rear speaker with a Push Pin.



Remove the 4 cover screws with a Philips #00 screwdriver.

Step 5 

Use the iPod opening tool to pry off the back casing.



Continue sliding the iPod opening tool around the seam of the casing to separate the front and back casings.

Step 7 

Separate the casing halves.

 Be sure to keep track of the side buttons as they fall out.

With the back casing removed the speaker is visible.

Step 9 

Lift up under top end of circuit board with the Spludger to access retaining clip.



Carefully pry up on retaining clip with the Spudger to release the speaker.

Step 11

 Carefully unplug speaker connector from circuit board with your fingers.

Step 12 

Remove the speaker by lifting up.
