Lion’s Lake Park Demonstration Rain Garden 101 Dutchtown Road, Voorhees Twp., Camden County, New Jersey

Planting Plan: An approximately 300 ft2 rain garden that is 6” deep was designed to capture parking lot runoff that has a surface area of approximately 1,500 ft2 before entering Lion’s Lake. The rain garden was excavated 9” below grade and backfilled with 3” of triple-shredded hardwood mulch, to create a 6” deep rain garden. This rain garden was designed to capture runoff for the New Jersey Water Quality Design Storm (1.25” of rain over the course of 2 hours), which accounts for 90% of rain events in New Jersey. A stone lined inlet was installed to slow down the runoff from the parking lot before spreading out throughout the garden. Additionally, a stone lined overflow was installed to allow for excess water in the garden to overflow to the existing grassed area, as it did before. Overflow

Inlet NOTE: Not to scale
