Nursery’s first year
by Jacob Rogers
During their extraordinarily tough first year Nursery have faced some easy challenges but difficult ones along the way. This has been an interesting first year with tonnes of fun as well as a few surprise visits including a tortoise coming in which took patience and keeping your excitement and loudness in. Also, hand paintings were made which was such fun {a bit messy!} Part the way through this term their interests were set on the yummy in your tummy fruit salad! In fact they did a whole assembly on it and made it themselves - yummm!
LONDON!!!!! By Jake Horton On the 10/6/15 Year 6 went on a trip to London. Amazingly, it took about 4 hours to travel by coach. Surprisingly, there wasn’t a sound on the bus!!! Now that’s a year 6 world record broken! When they were in London they watched the Lion King in the theatre. Ryan said “It was epic’’. Before the Lion King they went to Belgoes, a Belgian restaurant. Then it was time to go to bed and they went to a Premier Inn. On the last day Joe said ’’The tour was phenomenal “.
YEAR 3 MAKE AMAZING OWLS During DT week Year 3 took on the great, amazing , but challenging task . Year 3 and 4 took on making miniature cats and owls based on the owl and the pussycat. It went down great and they produced some awesome owls and cool cats. Year 3s owls were truly great some were colourful , creative or cool . First they designed and then went on to making a real model—every one was outstanding and they had great fun ! By Milly Green
NSPCC DANCE!!!!By Jake Horton and Olivia Darvill To raise money for NSPCC we did a dance. Everybody enjoyed themselves and had a blast. If you were wondering who did which dance this is it: Year 3= Hacka, Year 4= Uptown Funk, Year 5 and Year 6= STOMP!. The Hacka was so fierce Mrs V couldn’t watch! If you’re wondering what a STOMP! is it is a dance with lots of noise but really, really impressive though. Ruby B a member of year 4 said “The dances were AWESOME!!!!! “ Milly G also had to say “ It was brilliant”. We raised over £2500!
Access Club!!! Access club is a club where you can go and do your homework! It’s a helpful place to go if you don’t have access to a computer or the needed equipment to complete your homework task. Not many people go to access club, because it’s only for year five and six! Henry Smith is one of the couple of people who go to access. He commented “If you have homework then you can go to access and do it.” That is pretty much access club wrapped up in to a brilliant little article! By Lizzie Oxley. Cultural week By Ruby Roberts
During the cultural week years 1 and 2 went to the Sikh temple, they took scarves and hats to keep their hair covered. They all had great fun on their trip. Evie year 2 said “It was epic, weirdly they told us that they never cut their beards off!” Then Jack in year 2 said “Freddie (y2) tried a turban on so did Leon”. Also during cultural week year 3/4 had a visitor to teach them all about religions.
Year 1 take over Ancient high house!! By Ruby B The unstoppable Year 1 went on an amazing trip to the Ancient high house on the 25th June. Teachers that went with year 1 were: Miss Turner, Mrs Squires, Mrs Brickenell, Mr Cox and Mrs Cox. They were all very proud of their behaviour and showing off our wonderful school. They had the pleasure of making a small little coin that they created themselves. Lewis, a proud member of being in year 1, told us” It was fun and exciting”, as well Sophie H wanted to mention” It was good we had a great time” All of Year 1 loved going to the Ancient High House and they would definitely go again; so for those that are going into Year1 will absolutely love going if they do. You get to dress up in olden day outfits!
Talent show!!!!!
By Jacob Rogers
This once a term thriller was held. Yet again never the less was anyone letting the trophy slip away from them without a good fought test of talent! As the tension grew by ounces a second and the atmosphere was majestic the competitors almost flew out of their skin in the hope of not being humiliated with shame! The morning talent show featured Lizzie {the winner}, Isla, Archie x2 and Ruby R and Joss! But in the evening another extravagance was hit! This included Jacob, Jack and Harry, Lillie {the winner} and Millie. Lizzie the winner joyfully exclaimed “ I am so surprised to win although I’m proud of everyone who tried their best it was the toughest challenge I’ve ever faced!”
Year 5 Trip to Staffordshire Regiment Museum!! By Olivia Darvill.
On the 4th of June, 2015,Year 5 went on a trip to the Staffordshire Regiment Museum! They had a FAB time. I interviewed Jaimee-Louise and here is what she had to say about the trip: “I thought it was really interesting and fascinating to see all the different artefacts and go in the trenches and see what they would have for clothes and food! I really enjoyed it and would like to go again!” Thanks Jaimee. At the Museum year 5 got to see all sorts of exiting things: What they wear, the trenches, Living conditions and many more things!! Altogether, Year 5 had a great time!!
Jack and the beanstalk By Ruby B You may be wondering what I mean when I say Jack and the Beanstalk... have you ever heard of the story Jack and the bean stalk? You probably have. Cooper Perry did a performance of a little part of the play each; they had a week to practise and turned it into a pantomime! All of them were outstanding you couldn’t tell it wasn’t from the real thing. All you adults would have been very proud of your child. Year 4 did it very differently because they did it in two halves so some actors at the beginning and the rest of the class at the end. It was from Nursery to Year 6 and they were brilliant.
Cams in year five!!
In Year 5, the pupils had a fairly tricky D&T! They had to make cams, which basically is when you twist a piece of wood and it should make an object move/turn round and round! However, that wasn’t the case with some of the cams because… Miss Harrison and Mrs Goodall struggled a bit if we are all honest!!! If people weren’t careful the cams would break so year 5 had to take extreme care with their cams.

Sports day On the 19th June 2015 the one and only Cooper Perry Primary School did there sports day!! This was an amazing experience for the Reception children. We interviewed Katie aged 10 from year 5 and she replied: “I’m really proud because I came 2nd” By Emily.
Gurd Wara
By Jake Horton
On the 9/2/15 year 1 and 2 went to the Gurd Wara. The Gurd Wara is a Sikh temple. Each temple has a god that they worship; talking of gods there is a vast range of gods there’s hundreds of them. If I were to list all of them we would be here for hours and hours and hours! Before you go into the temple you need to take off your shoes and wash your hands. Also cover your hair. If you didn’t do these things it’s being disrespectful to the gods.
Year 6 Last Year By Jake Horton This year Year6 are leaving for high school so here are some things about their year. Mrs V’s best and most favourite bit of year 6 was going to London. They had great fun and lots of laughs. Time flies when you’re having fun as they always say. Year 6 has been a very busy and enjoyable year. Ryan, a year 6 pupil, had something to say about Sats; “The sats is a nightmare!’’. The play they did this year is called Mission Impossible. Amazingly, they wrote it them selves!
Year 4 at Kingswood!!!!!
By Jacob Rogers
At Kingswood, year 4 did some great challenges including laser and Jacob Rogers (me!) was the incredible laser champion! Milly Green said “Jacob was an extremely talented laser champion but he didn’t go on the zipwire!” The joyful instructor, Jess, led a group through a rather tough, muddy or very muddy challenge. Everyone found each challenge exciting but some were more talented or brave on each challenge.
Antarctica By Ruby Roberts In year 2 they learnt about Antarctica. They made dioramas (Antarctica in a box) and learnt a poem. Evie in year 2 said “it was amazing.” Then Jack said “we had lots of fun making our diorama also doing our assembly on penguins!” Evie said “We wrote poems on penguins and made our role play area into an igloo.” Year six S.A.Ts!?!
Earlier this year, year six did their end of year S.A.Ts. They were hard working and, finally, they completed the papers. Tom. G in year six told us (before a math test) “In S.A.Ts my strategy was to go through the paper and answer the harder questions first. Then the easier ones.” And it must have worked as he got a level 6 in his maths!

Dudley Zoo
Last month year 3 and year four went to Dudley Zoo and as you can see by the look of the photo every child looked like they were enjoying it. We interviewed some children in year 3 and this was their response “ I really enjoyed Dudley Zoo but its sad that they don’t let schools go anymore.” Some other children told us a long list of animals that they enjoyed looking at “ I enjoyed seeing the bears, turtles and the monkeys.” I’m sure all the children after what they have told us would want to go back again. Year 2 open afternoon!
Recently, year two had a very active open afternoon! Lots of parents participated in the activities. I asked Edward what happened. “We made models out of tin foil and masking tape and we got cardboard that we had to colour in. And then we stuck it on!” Year two had lots of fun and enjoyed it sooooooooo much!
Clubs
Cooper perry has a wide range of clubs including netball, choir and many more. A girl from netball club called Mollie Bufton said “ Most of the time I’m talking or being cheeky but I don’t want to do that in netball,” a girl from Choir called Olivia Darvill said “ I don’t know why they just don’t call it club amazing!” So I think its safe to say that Mollie and Olivia really enjoy their clubs! Reception’s trip to Cosford A couple of weeks ago Reception went to Cosford as part of their transport topic. When some children were interviewed on what they thought most of the children enjoyed the airplanes a little boy called Finlay Summers explained “ I really liked the airplanes,” as you can probably tell the children really enjoyed watching the airplanes at Cosford.
The cooper express! This year some year four and five children have been putting together a newsletter, called The Cooper Express. We all hope that you have enjoyed reading our newsletter. We also hope that you understand how hard everyone in journalism club has worked to complete The Cooper Express. We interviewed some children in the club and their responses were from Millie Green: “I think it’s a really good idea and I think everyone should try to take part,” After we interviewed Jake Horton and he replied when asked what do you think about the newsletter “ It feels great to be in journalism club because its great fun and amazing!” The last person we interviewed was Olivia Darvill and she said “ I think the newsletter crew are exceptionally amazing!” Once again I hope you enjoyed our newsletter.
