The following criteria will be used when approving clubs and the Advisers and students agree to: • The purpose of the club must be aligned with current LNHS curriculum • The purpose of the club must be aligned with ISD #194 activities mission statement • The purpose of the club must promote a positive school climate and benefit LNHS students • The activities of the club must fall within LNHS policies and procedures • Existing school facilities must be adequate for the complete operation of the club • The club must be inclusive – participation available to any interested LNHS student • The Adviser will have supervisory duty with students, and act in an adviser’s role only • Initial meeting…members must obtain all student contact information for future reference, and a roster of the member given to the Activities Office • The club’s initial meeting only can be placed on daily announcements, but must be given to the Activities Office for approval • Each club should preferably obtain at least 15 members…combining with other similar clubs • All Club Applications must be completed YEARLY, signed by the Adviser, and then approved by the Activities Director before an initial meeting • Clubs are allowed 20 fliers/ notebook page size copies, signed/approved by the Activities Office and copied in the Copy Center • See back side of this form for complete Club Policies

CLUB POLICIES 1. A student lead club may be offered when there is sufficient student interest (15 or more) and a staff member willing to act as the club adviser. Each club must return their application and roster to the Activities Office. If a similar club exists, a combination of clubs will be requested. 2. Contact the Activities Office for a club application and approval from the Activities Director. At the initial meeting, clubs will complete a roster and obtain each member’s contact information for future announcements among themselves. 3.

When the club becomes chartered/approved by the AD, the following will be available for the club: a) The club will be listed in the Activities/Clubs website. All rooms needed must be requested by the staff Adviser, not club members. b) The club’s picture may be taken by the yearbook staff to be included in the yearbook. Contact the yearbook adviser each year for dates. c) If needed, the club will have an activity account opened which will enable the club to conduct fundraisers and make purchases as a school group upon the Adviser’s request. Fundraisers must be approved beforehand by the Activities Director.

4. All Advisers should be advised of the following when posting fliers/announcements throughout the building: a) The poster must include the name of the club and the event title being promoted b) The poster must include contacting YOU AFTER school in your classroom c) The poster must include the location, date, and time of the event d) The poster must be brought to the Activities Office for approval and signatures by the AD & Principal e) The poster should be on an standard notebook size sheet of paper f) Once the poster has been approved/signed request up to 20 copies to be made in the Copy Center g) The posters must be taken down by club members after the event that is posted.

SCHOOL & COMMUNITY SERVICE 1.

School/community service will constitute a factor in determining the function of a group.

We encourage as many groups to have a service aspect to their group function as possible.
