Individuals who contribute to the Air Force Academy Fund at the Sabre Society level lay the foundation for important philanthropic activities at the Academy, like graduate services, fundraising efforts, summer research opportunities, and cadet clubs. These contributions also ensure that the Endowment and the AOG continue to successfully fulfill their missions in support of the Academy. Lance Merkley, USAFA '00, takes a moment to share why he recently decided to contribute at the Sabre Society level: "Reflecting upon my years at the Academy, I realize that much of who I am today is largely a result of lessons learned as a cadet, our shared core values, and the relationships built during these formative years. Today, I am happy to support the institution that provided so much to me personally, and that develops the very finest officers in the world. I was happy to hear that in addition to supporting our cadets, the Sabre Society also helps to build networks and relationships amongst our graduates through the AOG and the Endowment. Personally, I hope that every graduate who is able to support the Sabre Society decides to do so, at any capacity -- what's important is to begin helping now."
