HERE’S WHAT’S NEW…

Worth the Drive! I was at a Chick-Fil-A in Fort Wayne a few weeks ago and was reminded of their impeccable customer service. The drive thru lane was long, but the inconvenience of long lines was off set by the drive-thru attendants. These were energetic and pleasant young people with mobile devices able to take our order and payment to speed up the process. We were greeted with eye contact, smiles, "How can I serve you?" and, if you know Chick-Fil-A well, lots of "My pleasure!" in response to any and all requests. I was told to have a great day. I was asked if there was anything else I needed. I was told how much I was appreciated. I love Chick-Fil-A for a number of reasons; their Christian ethic, really good chicken, but also great customer service with clean facilities to boot. Sure, it’s a little more than the regular run of the mill drive thru, but man, you feel valued, blessed, and appreciated just for eating there. What I am saying is that it’s worth the higher prices, longer lines, and even worth driving a little further for just because of all the quality

you get. I’d like to think that our church community is worth the drive for many who attend here and was just reminded by that today. We have a family who has been attending our church for over a year and they are moving to Fort Wayne this weekend. However, they shared the following in a recent email to me: Yes we are having to move to Fort Wayne for my husband’s work but we are not leaving Bachelor Creek. :-) We have loved being so much a part of this church that we have committed to staying involved in the community and being a part of this church no matter what. Wow! What a compliment to all of us at BCCC. So congrats to my church family for making people feel so welcome and loved that they are willing to drive here from Fort Wayne, Sweetser, Rochester, Huntington, even Muncie and other far places just so they can be part of this loving community of faith. Well done Creekers . . . well done. Thankful, Solomon

FOLLOWING JESUS INTO THE MARGINS We’ve seen the pictures on our televisions. We hear every night the heart wrenching stories on our news stations. If you are like me,
you probably feel so small in the face of the problem. Take heart that God is at work in the midst of the world stage. In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus replies, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.” On June 8th – 11th we will have the unique opportunity to witness a glimpse of where God is working around the world. We have partnered with World Vision to bring the World Vision Experience Exhibit to the Bachelor Creek campus. It is a one of a kind immersive experience allowing us to step into some of the world’s hardest places. Your eyes will be opened as you hear and see what Jesus hears, see what He sees, and come to understand how you play an important part in helping the most vulnerable. We believe that you’ll be inspired and transformed as you come alongside those in the midst of today’s greatest needs. I will need a lot of volunteers to pull this experience off correctly. That’s where you come in! If you are interested in knowing more about how you can get involved in this opportunity, I would love to speak to you personally. I am so excited to be used by God in such a powerful way. I want the same for you. In the coming few weeks you will be hearing much more about the World Vision Experience, and some of the fun things we have planned around it! So No one Stands Alone! Curt Turanchick Connections Minister

News From Tiny Town Hello! I am so excited to be on staff at Bachelor Creek as your Tiny Town Director! My first few weeks have been great and I have enjoyed getting to know many of you. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and inform you of some Tiny Town events that are coming up. This new position is very special to me, primarily because Bachelor Creek has always been my home. My parents, Rod and Robin Merrick, raised my brothers and I in the church and we are all BC members to this day. I married fellow Bachelor Creek member Tyler Dyson in 2009 and together we have two children, Maguire (5) and Marshall (3). Between both of our families, I think it’s safe to say we are related to about half of our church population!! Ha! I taught Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Ec.) for 11 years until I became a stay-at-home mom in 2014. I do not have a background in ministry, but I was recently reminded that everyone is a minister….no matter their professional title. As a teacher and

mother, I understand the vital role that our church plays in the development of our young children and their growing relationships with God. I am so thankful for our Tiny Town Volunteers, as they continue to serve in this area with their whole hearts. If you feel led to help us in this important ministry, we are always looking for people to serve. Please email me if you are interested. [email protected] Some exciting events to look forward to in Tiny Town: Muffins with Mom, May 14th (4-K) Baby Dedication Sunday, May 21st Doughnuts with Dads, June 18th (4-K) If I haven't had the opportunity to meet you, please stop by Tiny Town and say hello!
