Referral Marketing Andrew:

Referral marketing: this is an organic traffic source that is near and dear to my heart. It was my bread and butter back when I was a freelancer for my writing business, for my consulting business. Referral marketing is something that a lot of people who offer services in particular but also people who sell stuff, right, who sell products to customers are really missing out on. It's a low-hanging fruit. What you're doing here is you're acquiring additional clients and customers through referrals from existing clients and customers. The truth of the matter is is that if you provide value to somebody and they like you and they like what you provided them, they'll be happy to share with people who they think could benefit from your products or services. You can incentivize this by offering freebies or discount or even commissions to existing customers. Although in my experience providing services, I found that most of the time all I have to do is ask, be like, “Hey, you know, please refer me to people who you think could benefit from my services.” And guess what? A lot of times they would go out and do that. So there's, this is a terrific way to get leads for no cost whatsoever; absolutely no cost. So some examples. As a consultant offering a discount for clients who refer other clients. Asking for a book review at the end of a book. Asking for customers to share for an entry into a contest. Creating a referral bonus or discount for the referrer and the person referred. There's so many ways you can integrate referrals into your business. Monetary investment level; it's only a 2 because, you know, you may offer some kind of cash reward for being, for getting a referral. Time Investment; practically nonexistent. Of all the organic traffic sources out there, this is the one that has the lowest time investment level. And the engagement level is high because the people who are referring, who are going to referring you are going to be enthusiastic about the value that you provided them. So I wanted to bring this up because referrals are such a lowhanging fruit for many businesses. Make sure you utilize it to get that traffic you're not even paying for.
