Literacy In literacy we will be researching magical creatures using fiction and non-fiction books. We will create 3d story boards to retell the story of the Gruffalo and predict different endings to the story Aliens love Underpants. The children will identify stories that have problems and resolutions. Using descriptive writing to make information posters and writing about the dangers of being very small. Writing our own versions of the story Bog Baby and making our own Bog babies and writing instructions of how to train a dragon. Texts: The Gruffalo, Aliens Love Underpants, Aliens in Underpants Save the World, Where the Wild Things Are, The King of Tiny Things, Bog Baby, The adventures of Mrs Pepperpot, Guess what I found in Dragon wood.
Maths In Maths we will be learning to recognise odd and even numbers; count in 2s, 5s and 10s, look for patterns, halve numbers up to 20, identify one half and one quarter and tell the time to the half hour and quarter hour on analogue clocks, We will also practise our number bonds and understanding the place value of 1 and 2 digit numbers. We will also revisit 2d and 3d shapes and continue repeating patterns. We will complete weekly skills quizzes to reinforce what we have learnt.
