Park Expansion Design and Development Committee (PEDDC) Purpose: The Park Expansion Design and Development Committee (PEDDC) will have an opportunity to make recommendations for the use and design of the replacement parkland Membership: The Brooklyn Heights Association (BHA) The Fulton Ferry Landing Association (FFLA) The DUMBO Neighborhood Alliance (DNA) Community Board 2 The Ingersoll Houses The CAC may appoint such other members as it deems appropriate. PROGRAM CONSIDERATIONS - Improve views and entrance to the park at Washington Street. - Provide public restrooms for northern portion of the park.
- Relocate the existing dog run closer to the street to improve access and upgrade the facility.
- Create additional active recreation where possible.
- Retain the DEP building for park maintenance and operations space and for public restrooms and a public interpretive center.
- Integrate the DEP parking lot into the park by bringing up the grade to match the existing landscape.
- Orient park maintenance use and access to the east of the DEP building, under the Manhattan Bridge.
- Open up views to the Brooklyn Bridge from the DEP parking lot and through the DEP building.

NATURE EXHIBIT FACILITY - Create an outdoor nature interpretive center with seating for classes and programs. - Develop an outdoor ecology center with an interactive compost education program, with composting equipment that will be available for public and park use. - Develop explanatory signage for public education.
