Isaiah
Key Verse: Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Main People: Isaiah & the Judaean kings: Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, and Manasseh
(New International Version)
A crisis exists in the nation of Judah. Wickedness has permeated deep into every fiber of the social, political, and spiritual life of the country— a condition that God finds intolerable. Divine indictment falls from the lips of the his prophet Isaiah. Unless repentance sweeps the nation, God will reduce his people to ruin.
Famine and pestilence will replace feasting and pleasure to show that the Holy One of Israel still rules in Zion. King and commoner, priest and prophet, no one will be safe when the terrifying day of God’s wrath descends upon his people.
Names of God: The Lord; Almighty; Holy One; Savior; Redeemer; Sovereign; Creator; Judge; Father; Etc.
Isaiah 19:16-25 No one is beyond God's salvation and mission, for in the Lord's day, the enemies of Israel will confess and worship the Lord and God will heal rescue and heal them. God declares that He will rescue and heal these nations when they turn to Him. "In that day“ (16-17; 23-24)
Isaiah 6 Isaiah’s national call for repentance is so urgent that even his personal call and commission to the prophetic office is not realized until chapter 6. Isaiah’s “Woe” (I am sinful, v. 5) is met by God’s holiness (I am holy, v. 7), resulting in Isaiah’s “Here am I; send me”
Isaiah 40 God's faithfulness is demonstrated through His comfort, His deliverance and His reconciliation within our lives. God has remembered us, we have forgotten Him
Isaiah 53
Isaiah Because Yahweh is above all and there is none like him, He desires for all to call on Him and be saved!
Jeremiah

Jeremiah Recovery of a LOST/COLD heart?
Jeremiah 29:11
What can one do when believers no longer have a Heart for God? First we need to know why God’s people lose their heart for God and ask “Where is the Lord?” Help people regain an awe of God (2:19) and believe once again that God will judge them (6:1-9; 9:13)!
Jeremiah 33:1-11 The Lord, creator of all, will heal us and bring rest (peace) to us, even if we are in a desolate place or held captive to the world around us. The Lord will forgive us of all our sin and worship will once again flow forth and we will become the witness of God in front of the whole world.
Jeremiah
“How one can have a heart for God when no one else does?”
Lamentations
Lamentations
1. Jerusalem had once been a queen; now she is a slave. But she confesses sin. 2. The Lord attacks Jerusalem as he would an enemy. 3. But there is still hope because the Lord blesses those with a repentant spirit. 4. As the city’s children cry out in hunger and thirst, no one takes pity on them. 5. Zion’s disgrace remembered; a prayer for restoration.
Lam. 3:19-38 The big idea (central theme) is:
No matter how down and bad things may seem around you, if we seek, hope and wait quietly in God then he will bring us out of our grief and affliction as His great love and compassion never fail. In the middle of the exiled Jews community lament (complaint), there is an acknowledgement of God's great love (21, 32), compassion (23, 32), goodness (25-28) and sovereign control (37-38) over everything (calamity and goodness). The Jews have questioned honestly with God why is He pouring out His wrath upon them, but yet they acknowledge to the Lord Himself this incredible moment of praise right in the middle of their lament where they confess His attributes: Great Love (21, 32); compassion (23, 32), faithfulness (24, 30-31), justice (33-36) and sovereignty (37-38). The exiled Jews know that they need to put their hope in God and seek Him (25-29) first.
Lam. 3:23-24
Ezekiel
Ezekiel 6-39
Ezekiel 10:4
Ezek. 33:1-20 The big idea (central theme) is:
The righteous and the wicked must TURN to the Lord and not trust in their own ways. If God has shown this wickedness to an overseer (pastor) then he or she must warn that person to turn to God or they will die. If the oversee (pastor) does NOT warn, then he or she will be held accountable by God.
Ezekiel 40-46
Ezekiel He faithfully proclaims God’s message and leading all people to ultimately “know that I am the Lord!”
Daniel Know that as a believer, you will survive even when the world becomes unjust all around us and they are against your personal faith. Daniel did in the Lion’s Den Jesus did in the empty tomb You will in “that” Day of the Lord.
