What to do... • •
With your child, choose one of the Numicon Shapes in the picture and cover its holes with counters. Now take the counters off the Shape and see if your child can arrange them into the Numicon Patterns, without counting. Continue until the Patterns of all the Shapes have been made.
What next... When your child can do the first part easily, try this: • •
Ask your child to choose one of the dice, roll it and make the Numicon Pattern with counters (remember to do it without counting). Ask your child to point to the Numicon Shape that matches the Pattern.
