De Soto High School Cat Boosters Meeting Minutes * May 11, 2016 The meeting was called to order at 5:40pm by Rachele Zade, president. Attendees: Rachele Zade, Amy Droegemeier, Ryan Johnson, Tresa Kellner, Jill Huber, Nicole Yarbrough President’s Report (Rachele Zade) Per Rachele, Kelley was able to put her name on the savings account at Great Southern Bank. She has not been able to withdraw the money yet at this time. Secretary’s Report (Amy Droegemeier) Minutes of the March meeting were read and approved. Moved by Rachele, 2nd by Jill. Treasurer’s Report (Kelley Sweeney) Not present Committee/Officer Reports Spirit Wear (Kim Taulbee, Tresa Kellner)  Nothing new Concessions (Amy Droegemeier)  Have invoices  1 more event Scholarships / Grants (Kerrie Brady, Nicole Yarbrough)  11 applications received  Three judges – one is a sub, two have no affiliation with district – rank students from 1 to 11; added up scores and had 5 through 28 (lower is better)  Email sent last week with scores and group  Samuel Seidl - $500, Travis Hodge - $250, Rachel Moore - $250, Jaycie Thaemert - $200, Josh Forshey - $150, Taylor Hansen - $150  Amy moves, Ryan seconds – motion passes unanimously After Prom (Jill Huber)  Had a good turnout overall – we made approximately 200 in attendance – only a few that didn’t show up and needed to call parents  Volunteers did a great job – ended up with plenty at site – parents stepped up and stayed later even some that hadn’t signed up  Kids were great – no issues at all  Powerplay – anxious to get a commitment for next year  May want to cut back time for next year – end earlier? do prizes earlier (2:30a)?  Kids seem to be “over” Powerplay – maybe find another location?  Dave & Busters – MV – timing more limited for buffet (not as good of selection either)  Goal is just to have somewhere safe for them to spend their time together  Nicole: Casino company coming in to run it? STA has an auction each year that does it?  Have at gym in casino? Inflatables with sumo suits, etc? Entertainer?  Have a few prizes (mostly gift cards) that we will give away to staff randomly at end of year

Staff Appreciation (Rachele Zade, Rachelle Theel)  This year’s staff appreciation week was May 2 – 6. Had daily events for staff and treats in mailboxes. Staff seemed very appreciative of all that was planned. Good mix of things – meals, treats, etc. More efficient this year! Activities Director Report   

Cat closet shelves – demo crew is coming in when school is out – need to salvage shelves Summer HVAC – shut off in aux gym, commons Larger Nike items came in a couple of weeks ago

New Business  Elections – did not have a nominating committee o Can take nominations from floor o Committee leads are just appointed o Kelley will not be returning as treasurer o Amy moves to nominate RZ as president, second by Ryan o Jill nominates Nicole for treasurer, Rachele seconds o Ryan nominate Amy as VP, Tresa seconds o No confirmed nominees available at this time for secretary RZ moves to accept 16-17 officers, Pres – RZ, VP – AD, Treas – NY, Sec – open / Ryan 2nd, motion carries unanimously Girls swim team – t-shirts for going to state? Have asked through Ryan if Booster Club would sponsor tshirts. RZ moves to support the swim team by purchasing t-shirts not to exceed a total amount of $150. Amy 2nd, motion passes unanimously.
