Houston continues, "We had forty LHS students receiving awards at the regional level, these students won 98 awards and thirty-seven advanced to the state level competition. ach year the high school art classes research automobile design and design a car of their own. The students are then given two sheets of artboard paper that they have to figure out how to turn into a solid 3-D puzzle by laminating many layers of designed and cut paper into a functional sculpture. The only materials that can be used are

the given paper including wheel construction. Students may use wire for the axles. The finished product is painted and then raced on a downhill derby-style track. Junior Kaden McFarlain was this year's school champion racer by winning 1st place in his class and then 1st place in the school championship tournament.

TENNIS COURT SIGNAGE -- Mr. Sitton’s CTE Welding class at Livingston High School recently constructed a Lion and two L’s made of sheet metal for the Livingston Lion Tennis Complex. Students used computer aided design and laser cut using a CNC machine and then welded smaller pieces to the lion to complete the process. The 24” high images were sanded, cleaned and painted and hung on the entry gate.
