I’m glad God brought you here this morning on this day when we honor our mothers. We also have “Titus 2” spiritual mothers and we praise them. In Titus 2:3-5 (NASB) Paul told Titus, “Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.” And while we honor our biological mothers and praise our spiritual mothers, we grieve with those who suffer the pain of infertility. Today we also observe a Parent/Child Dedication. We ask parents to affirm that their child is a stewardship and their child ultimately belongs to the Lord. We ask them to publicly and solemnly vow to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We, as a church, publicly affirm our prayer and support for these parents. We praise God for the gift of children! This morning we’ll turn to 1 Peter and learn what the Bible teaches about dealing with our “cares.” The word “ care” means “to be drawn in different directions” or to be “pulled apart.” We are filled with cares and worries about the economy, the election and our future. Always rest in the truth that God is sovereign. Nothing gets to us without first passing through His mighty and merciful hands. If you can trust Him for your eternal well-being, you can trust Him for your temporal well-being! Associate Pastor’s Note

Be The Church Fellowship and Refresh Connect Last July we held our first Be The Church training. It’s been an amazing year and we have made some huge strides in outreach. Now that we have almost a year under our belts we need to keep the vision fresh and moving forward. Sunday June 26th we will have a fellowship BBQ following our 10:30 worship service. After the BBQ we will move into the Train Station where we will refresh the vision for Be The Church. We will unpack what we have accomplished this last year and where we need to grow so we can continue moving forward together. Please mark your calendars because we want the whole church to gather for this time of fellowship and refreshing.
Just an FYI: The church parking lot will be used by THS on graduation day, May 14. They might use most of it and will be busing people to the school. Just a reminder: A volunteer serve list and Sunday school class information, can be found on posters in the foyer.
