TASKI® Crystal ShieldTM/MC Wet Honing discs
TASKI® Crystal ShieldTM/MC Wet Honing discs are course grit abrasive to smooth and flatten the stone substrate and prepare the stone floor for the polishing step.
Use Directions Terrazzo Strip all old finish from floor using a Diversey Floor Stripper per use instructions. Place mounting pad on a low speed single disc machine then attach 3 TASKI® Crystal Shield Honing
discs to mounting pad at 12, 4 and 8 o’clock positions. Wet floor with clean water. If discs are new, prepare them for use by making passes across the floor with the single disc machine.
Diamonds in the discs are exposed and ready for use when slurry appears on the floor. Hone floor by completing a minimum of 10–12 passes across the floor. For optimal results, hone the
floor at 1–2 m²/5 min. Move slowly and overlap each pass by ½. Un-dyed Concrete Strip all old finish from floor using a Diversey Floor Stripper per use instructions. Place mounting pad on a low speed single disc machine then attach 4 TASKI® Crystal Shield Honing discs to mounting pad at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions with red dot on pad towards the equipment. Wet floor with clean water. If discs are new, prepare them for use by making passes across the floor with the single disc machine. Note: Not intended to be used on resilient flooring. Caution should be used on specialty non-resilient flooring such as decorative, dyed or stained concrete. Perform a small test patch in an inconspicuous area before proceeding. WARNING! Concrete, terrazzo and some types of stone flooring (e.g., granite) contain crystalline silica. To avoid excessive exposure to crystalline silica dust, use only the diamond pads and burnishing discs specified in the Crystal Shield process. Substitution of unapproved pads or discs may result in unsafe levels of dust. Repeated exposures to respirable crystalline silica may have serious adverse health consequences.
