CHIPPEWA VALLEY IAAP CHAPTER MINUTES February 3, 2014 CALL TO ORDER Chapter President Pauline Spiegel welcomed everyone to the meeting. EDUCATION SESSION The education program was “iPad for Business.” The presenter was Leslie Damico. She puts her passion about training and adult learning to use as the integration and software specialist and community technology class coordinator for the Eau Claire Area School District. Leslie’s presentation taught us about using an iPad for things such as note-taking, documents, spreadsheets, tables, presentations and working in the cloud. ATTENDEES Linda Bockin, Kathleen Brown, Cherie Haglund, Pat Keller, Audra Knowlton, Lisa Kraszewski, Candy Landwehr, Stephanie Plasch, Pauline Spiegel, Donna Weidman, and Cynthia Welch. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Cynthia moved to approve the minutes from November25, 2013. Pat seconded. Motion passed. REPORTS Community Action Non-Profit Collaboration Rick Schemm, Director of Chapter Services for CVSHRM, spoke regarding providing free professional support to Community Action Non-Profit Agencies in the Chippewa Valley. Members of the Chapter would volunteer an hour or more a month as their time commitment allows. There may be an opportunity to get paid for large or ongoing projects. This would provide an opportunity to market IAAP and network with other professional organizations. Financial Financial Report – A service charge of $10 was applied in error for online banking for September and October. We will be credited this amount. Donna recommended updating the amount of the CVTC Endowment (Scholarship) Fund to reflect the actual amount report by Kathy Briggs in November, $10,379.03. Cynthia reviewed the rebates received for renewal of membership dues. The report with changes will be placed on file. WDAM and EFAM 2014 Commitments for Lodging Reservations Hotel reservations will be opening up soon for EFAM July 25-31, 2014. The Chapter will give scholarships of around $100 or more toward registration. Committee OPS – Donna gave a report on OPS. Chez has been hired for the keynote speaker and he will provide a breakout. He will charge $1,200.00. Donna also gave an update on the breakout sessions. March 26th is the deadline for registration. OPS is April 9, 2014. Registration is $95.00, $15.00 for executives, $40.00 for members, and $35.00 for students. Ways and Means – Pauline spoke about the basket raffle. The donation letter will be emailed to members.

New Member Orientation – Audra stated there are two new members. Darlene Frey and Barb Glomstad. The new member orientation is scheduled for Monday, March 24, 2014. At least one new member needs to attend to qualify as a criteria for Chapter of Excellence. Linda asked if a Sunday afternoon may work better. Audra will contact Barb for her schedule and preference. EFAM 2014 Milwaukee Update - Discussion was held on registration for EFAM and the increase in the cost. BUSINESS ITEMS Community Action Non-Profjt Collaboration Pauline gave pros and cons regarding our Chapter providing professional support to the Community Action NonProfit Collaboration. Linda moved that the Chippewa Valley Chapter become part of the Community Action NonProfit Collaboration on a volunteer basis. Donna second. Motion passed. EMERGING ISSUES None noted. COMMUNICATION Pauline reminded the Chapter about collecting money for Feed My People. Members ordering the new name badge owe $7.60. Lisa moved to adjourn. Cynthia second. Motion carried.
