CELEBRATION OF LIFE Levi Regier, age 82, of Henderson, Nebraska, passed away Sunday August 21, 2016, at Henderson Care Center. He was born January 29, 1934, in Farmers Valley Township, Hamilton County Nebraska, to David and Elizabeth (Buller) Regier. He attended Farmers Valley Grade School and later Lushton School in Lushton, Nebraska. When Lushton School closed, he completed his last two years at York High School, graduating with the class of 1951. Levi was baptized at Bethesda Mennonite Church on June 1, 1952, by Rev. Arnold Nickel. He retained his membership there until his passing. On October 28, 1958, he was united in marriage to Patricia Ratzlaff at Bethesda Mennonite Church by Rev. John Gaeddert. To this union, two children were born, Dennis and Dawn. They made their home in Henderson and later moved to an acreage north of Henderson. It was on this land that Levi built his own home with help from his brother and brother-in-law. God gave Levi many talents and he could fix anything. He enjoyed working with his hands. One of Levi’s many joys was motorcycle riding. He and Pat took many trips to various states in the U.S. on their bike. His other hobby was collecting BMW Isetta cars. He drove to several collector conventions as far away as Texas and participated in different parades. Before his retirement, Levi was an EMT, fireman and long-time employee of the Henderson Telephone Company. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Patricia; children, Dennis and wife Mary of Henderson, Dawn Schaldecker and husband Alan of Grafton, Nebraska; grandchildren, Justin Regier of Bloomington, Minnesota, Kenda (Aaron) Fink, of Adams, Nebraska, Alyssa Benson, of Mason City, Iowa, Stacy Russeff of Lake Park, Iowa, Ethan and Seth Schaldecker of Lincoln, and Luke Schaldecker, of Grafton; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is brother, Fred (Betty) Regier and sister, Margaret (Don) Huebert of Henderson; as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Kevin, daughter-in-law LeeAnn and two brothers, Pete Regier and David Regier Jr.
