Gifts for Salt & Light Ministry This year we are again giving our gifts to the local ministry, Salt & Light. They will be having a shopping day for parents of needy families to come in and pick out gifts for their children at no cost. Please have your child pick out a special gift valued around $5 -$10 for a child between the ages of 2—10 years of age gift. Bring them to the school on December 7 & 8 unwrapped. The children all get together to collect the gifts they have brought and pray for the children to receive them. I want to thank you all for your help at Thanksgiving. We took 8 complete dinners to the Salvation Army that went to local veterans’ families.

Cookie Dough Fundraiser Thank you for your hard work. You raised over $2200 and teachers are looking to replace some of the large ticket items. Top sellers were AJ Emers, Roman Jennings, and Riley/Haley Johnson. Each winner received a gift certificate for Scholastic books. Thanks so much.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

From the Director I cannot express my thanks enough to all those who helped with the fundraiser. You really out did yourselves and the teachers are making their lists and checking them twice. The winners of the Scholastic gift certificates are AJ Emers, Roman Jennings, and Riley/Haley Johnson. December is packed full of many activities both at school and at your homes. My prayer is that we will find time in our busy schedules to remember the true meaning of Christmas - - The Birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. Book Orders will be due on Friday, December 8 so that we can hopefully get the books back before our Christmas Break. This year we will be sending gifts to a local ministry, Salt & Light, that will be using these gift in the Parents Shopping Days. The children are to bring an unwrapped gift valued around $5 -$10 on December 7 & 8. Crayons, paper, markers, small toys, etc. Please send the gifts UNWRAPPED. If you wish to donate some wrapping paper that would be welcomed. Mrs. Shine will be delivering them after school on December 8th. Vision and Hearing Screening is on December 5 and 6. Please return forms. December 20 and 21 marks the arrival of the big event, The Christmas Program. It will be at 10:45 am for AM classes in the Crossing and the afternoon classes will have a small program, decorate cookies and dismiss at 1:30 PM. To make this a festive occasion, I am asking each family to bring one (1) dozen Christmas cookies. The school will provide the drink. If you could bring them to the school when you bring your children that would be most helpful to me. After the program you are invited to enjoy the refreshment in the Cafe. The last day of school will be Thursday, December 21 at the end of the school day. School will resume on Monday, January 8. This is just a review of the procedure for inclement weather. When Champaign Unit 4 closes, we will also close. At times, the public schools will have limited bus service and we may choose to close because we are in an area that the roads are not always kept clear. Please use your discretion on these days. To find out the status of the school on a questionable day, listen to WBGL-91.7 FM and WDWS 97.5. There will also be a message on the school’s answering machine, 356-9167. You are always welcome to call me at home, 721-6501. Also please, please, send cold weather clothing with your child to school. We will try to go out even if there is snow on the ground. However, children may not be able to go out if they do not have the proper clothing. The school has a limited number of gloves, but boots and coats are not available. Have a Blessed Christmas. Jaymie
