What started as a faith journey of Amor’s founders Gayla and Scott, has turned in to a global ministry with a vision shared by many. Gayla and Scott founded Amor Ministries in 1980 to address the housing needs that were keeping families apart. The first homes were built alongside families in the Tijuana dump who were sending their children to orphanages because they couldn’t provide for them. These families were desperate to stay together, but resources kept that from being possible. After learning about this, Amor’s Founders decided to do something about it. Today Amor is active in communities throughout Mexico, South Africa, and beyond. Amor Ministries does more than just make life easier for a family in need; we open hearts to truly see the grace and love of Jesus by providing security, safety, and stability. Through the time and energy of our volunteers, Amor has kept over 18,000 families together. Join us in our mission. Come build hope. Over 2000 Family Campers from Sherwood Oaks have built over 40 houses during 22 years of Family Campers. Join us in 2018!
Mexico Family Camp is a week of camping, serving, and growing together. Families meet in San Diego to travel together across the border to the Amor Family Campsite in Rosarito, Mexico. We stay together in a tent city where everyone gathers for incredible dinners and evening sessions around the campfire. Each day begins with family devotions and a hearty breakfast before boarding vans for the work sites. Family teams of 25 work each day to build homes for needy Mexican families. Each year, families are deeply touched by the experience of working together, worshiping together, and growing together.

Ministries
Dates: June 16-22, 2018 Project: Build 22’X11’ homes for Mexican families.
Team: Team of 25 per house. Kids 5 yrs. up welcome. No construction experience necessary.
Travel: Meet at San Diego airport. Housing: Tents with common bathrooms and showers.
Cost: $700 per adult / $600 14 yrs & under covers road transportation, health insurance, food and lodging. Airfare, snacks and souvenirs are not covered.
Camp Fees include:
Home building materials Rentals: Tools, Field vehicles, Storage units, etc. Food: Meals and snacks at the campsite, Lunch and snacks at the work site. Water: Drinking water, Shower water, Bottled water Gifts for our Mexican families VBS Supplies
