Michael Satterfield
Michael Satterfield 2015 Biography Michael Satterfield is a registered architect who specializes in healthcare design at McCulloch-England Associates Architects. He has practiced architecture for almost 20 years since his graduation from UNC-Charlotte, including managing complex projects over $50 million. He has extensive background in Design, adaptive re-use, Land Planning, Master Planning and long term planning and budgeting. He has also served as an adjunct instructor at Central Piedmont Community College. Originally from Knoxville, TN, Michael moved to the Charlotte area in junior high school. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Amy, they settled in the York-Chester neighborhood. Their daughter, Summey, is a second grader at PCCS.

Hot Topics High School I became interested in service to this school when the board voted to close the high school. Because of the subsequent vote to rescind that action the school as a whole has a second chance. I believe that closing the high school would be the beginning of the end for PCCS. Planning the future I have been attending recent board meetings and sub-committee meetings and believe we have a special opportunity at this point in the school’s history. We can solve the problems of attrition, recruitment, academic access, extracurricular activities, and campus expansion. We can make PCCS an even better place to learn. I have studied the current issues we face and believe we can and will move forward as a K-12 institution.

For a decade I have voluntarily served the people of Gastonia in various capacities. I am EXPERIENCED, CREATIVE and RESPONSIBLE. I have fought for a better Gastonia by finding opportunities where others see problems. I am ready to take on the challenges that face this school. My background in Architecture, land planning and master planning position me to help improve the future of this school as a K-12 institution. Ihope you will consider me for PCCS-CFA School Board.
