Middle School Winter 2013-14 Cheerleading Tryouts

Middle School Winter 2013-14 Cheerleading Tryouts Clinic Information:  Cheerleading clinics will be held October 28th, and 29th from 6:00-8:30pm and then October 30th from 7:30-9:00pm in the multi-purpose room at Ferguson Hall.  Girls should wear shorts and a t-shirt and cheer or gym shoes  Hair should be up and bangs should be pinned back; No jewelry  Girls will be taught a cheer and dance to perform Forms to bring Day 1 of Clinics:  An Emergency Medical Form (attached)  Squad Application (attached)  Copy of 1st quarter report card (we will be keeping this, so make sure it’s a copy) **If you cheered football sideline, you do NOT need to complete the EMA or Application form. Tryout Information:  Tryouts will be held Saturday, November 2nd beginning at 2:00pm at BHS in the Main Gym.  Girls will try out as pairs  Girls should wear a plain white t-shirt tucked in to black shorts. Hair must be completely up, no bangs, no jewelry, no nail polish.  Skills judged on: o Cheer o Dance o Jumps  Toe touch  Hurdler o Tumbling – tumbling is not required to make the squad  Negative teacher evaluations will result in deduction of points from tryout score  Results will be posted at noon on Sunday 11/3 on the cheerleading website by tryout number Squads: **All squads will consist of 8 cheerleaders.  7th Grade Orange  7th Grade Black  8th Grade Orange  8Th Grade Black **Girls who participate in other competitive squads should not consider trying out for winter cheer due to the time commitment both squads will require. Physicals:  Physicals will be required to be on file for any girl who makes a squad Expectations:  Cost o Pay to Play- $200 (due November 15th).  Pay to Participate Family Max: $750 o Uniform Costs - Warm-Ups, Midriff, Spankies, Socks, Shoes, Ribbons, Cheer Bag, Camp T-Shirts and – approximately $175 Questions??
