Miller Elementary PTA Scholarship Application 2012 The Miller Elementary PTA is proud to offer two $500 scholarships to eligible graduating seniors. Eligibility: 1. Any graduating senior who attended Miller Elementary School for at least two years of their elementary education, including 5th grade. 2. Student enrolling in an accredited undergraduate degree program at an accredited college, university, or technical school for the 2012-2013 academic year (minimum of 12 credit hours per semester). 3. Student must have a minimum GPA average of 2.5. 4. The scholarship is available to any graduating senior who meets the above criteria, not just PISD (Plano) students.
Application Requirements: 1. Completed application 2. A 500 to 1500 word essay on “Advice I would give to my elementary self, now that I am graduating high school.” 3. A CERTIFIED copy of your high school transcript. 4. Personal history (extracurricular activities, awards, etc.). 5. Two recommendation letters from non-family members.

Application Deadline is APRIL 24, 2012. Scholarship recipients will be announced and honored at the Miller PTA Senior Reception on Tuesday, May 15th. Winners will be asked to present their advice to the current Miller students during an assembly before the end of the school year.

All applications will be kept confidential. The PTA President will appoint a Scholarship Committee each Spring, and the decision of the committee is final. No children or relatives of the scholarship committee may be considered for the scholarship. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
