Mimosa Diagonal Square Blocks Note: Use a 1/4" seam allowance for all stitching.
3. Stitch a 25/8" x 43/4" light blue toile rectangle to 1 edge of each blue segment to complete (16) 43/4" x 43/4" blue units. Press seams toward the rectangle. Repeat with the multicolor segments and 25/8" x 43/4" multicolor dot rectangles to make (18) 43/4" x 43/4" multicolor units.
1. Sew a light green toile 37/8" triangle to 2 adjacent sides of a 31/2" dark green leaf square to make a corner triangle. Press seams toward the triangles. Repeat to make 24 corner triangles total.

4. Sew a medium green dot 37/8" triangle to the 2 adjacent light blue edges of 2 blue units. Press seams toward the triangles. Add a dark blue leaf 71/4" triangle to 1 remaining edge of each unit. Press seams toward the triangles. Join the 2 pieced units to complete (1) 61/2" x 121/2" blue sashing unit. Press seam to 1 side. Repeat to make 8 blue sashing units total.

1. Sew 25/8" x WOF medium blue dot strip lengthwise together with 25/8" x WOF light blue toile strip to make a strip set. Press seam toward the medium blue strip. Crosscut the strip set into (16) 25/8" blue segments. 25/8"
5. Repeat step 4 with the multicolor units, medium green dot triangles and coral leaf 71/4" triangles to make 9 coral sashing units.

Mimosa Quilt Assembly Refer to the exploded quilt diagram as needed throughout the following steps.
7. Stitch the 3" x WOF multicolor dot strips short ends together to make a long strip. Press seams to 1 side. Cut into (2) 711/2" strips and (2) 581/2" strips. Sew the longer strips to the long sides of the quilt center and the shorter strips to the top and bottom to complete the quilt top. Press seams toward the strips.
1. Join 2 blue sashing units with 3 light green toile 61/2" squares to make a 61/2" x 421/2" sashing row. Press seams toward the squares. Repeat to make 4 sashing rows total.
8. Remove the selvage edges from the backing pieces. Join the pieces on the long edges with a 1/2" seam allowance. Press seam open. Trim the top and bottom edges to make a 66" x 84" backing piece. The seam will be side to side on the back of the quilt.
2. Join 2 Diagonal Square blocks with 3 coral sashing units to make a 121/2" x 421/2" block row. Press seams toward the sashing units. Repeat to make 3 block rows total.
9. Layer the top with the backing and a 66" x 84" batting piece. Quilt as desired. Bind using your favorite method and the dark green leaf binding strips to complete the quilt.
3. Stitch the sashing rows and block rows alternately together to complete the 421/2" x 601/2" quilt center. Press seams to 1 side. 4. Sew the 3" x WOF light green toile strips short ends together to make a long strip. Press seams to 1 side. Cut into (2) 601/2" strips and (2) 471/2" strips. Stitch the longer strips to the long sides of the quilt center and the shorter strips to the top and bottom. Press seams toward the strips. 5. Stitch the 11/2" x WOF dark green leaf strips short ends together to make a long strip. Press seams open. Cut into (2) 651/2" strips and (2) 471/2" strips. Fold each strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. Place a longer folded strip on the outer edges of the light green toile side borders with raw edges aligned and the folded edges toward the quilt center. Pin in place. Repeat with the shorter strips on the top and bottom edges. Machine-baste in place 1/8" from the edges all around. Remove pins. 6. Sew the 31/2" x WOF multicolor stripe strips short ends together to make a long strip. Press seams to 1 side. Cut into (2) 76" strips and (2) 58" strips. Center and sew the longer strips to the long sides of the quilt center, beginning and ending stitching 1/4" from the corners of the bordered quilt center. Repeat with the shorter strips on the top and bottom. Miter the corners using your favorite method. Trim corner seams to 1/4". Press corner seams open and border seams toward the strips, leaving the dark green folded strips flat on top of the inner border to form a decorative flange.
