Operations Coordinator Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The Operations Coordinator will assist the Athletics Department staff with the overall functionality and efficiency of the entire student staff internally and on gameday. This position requires a range of 15-20 hours per week for the duration of the academic year with possibilites of continued employment. Work study preferred, non-work study applicants will still be accepted as internships or practicum if deemed acceptable by applicant’s program of study. This weekly commitment includes at least 10 hours in the office and 7-15 hours staffing numerous Dragons sporting events, most of which take place on weekends, in the evening, or on holidays. JOB DESCRIPTION The Operations Coordinator will assist the Athletics Department with managing the office as well as assist in gameday operations, scheduling, and other duties as assigned. Some of the tasks will include, but are not limited to: budget management, scheduling all staff, client management, contracts and fulfillment, monitor data collection, organizing mascots, photographers, announcers, halftime performers and national anthem singers, overseeing timeliness of printing and merchandise, manage promotional inventory, etc. Other duties will be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS A student currently enrolled in a four-year institution. The applicant should have acceptional command of the English language, formidable communication skills, both oral and written. Experience with both Mac and PC computer, Microsoft Office package and Adobe Creative Suite CS5 preferred, and have skills with business operations, management, assessment, and human resources. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Must be passionate about sports • Frequent weekend and evening work. • Assist marketing staff, as needed, in other projects—sales process, data analysis, budget, scheduling, contracts, etc. • Assist in the management of marketing interns to optimize the talents, skills and time of each. • Manage outside vendors to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services. • Always be sensitive in my dealings with other personnel, visitors, and students, so that all are treated in a respectful, professional, and humane manner. • Be respectful of and sensitive to the rights, responsibilities and duties of others, and respectful of the human rights of all racial, ethnic, and religious groups, including but not limited to protected groups as defined by state statute. • Maintain professional level of conduct and interaction with other staff so that staff dissension is minimized. • Maintain control and composure during difficult and stressful situations to instill a calming effect on others. • Maintain a professional distance in relationships with staff and their families. • Physical requirements (e.g. lifting and carrying equipment and materials, required overnight travel, etc.) • Understand that you are part of our athletics department staff and are repsonible to adhere to all NCAA regulations.
