Mission Servants in Action The “ROLLER LADIES” of the Northern Illinois District Commercial bandages are often expensive and in short supply, so rolled bandages, or "missionary bandages," are needed in many, many countries. Global Health Ministries, a Minnesota-based agency, ships bandages to countries including Ethiopia, India, Liberia, Nigeria, Madagascar, and more. Six women from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oak Lawn, Illinois, have made it their mission to meet for two hours on the first and third Tuesday of each month to roll bandages. They do not meet during the summer months, but faithfully resume their rolling in September. Bandage rolling was the activity offered at a Zone Fall Workshop in 2009. The women enjoyed tearing strips of white bed sheets and rolling them into bandages so much that they just knew this was something their small group would feel good doing on a regular basis. To date, these wonderful ladies have neatly rolled and boxed more than 3,500 bandages. White only, cotton or cotton blend bed sheets are suitable material for the project. If you are looking for a youth or intergenerational activity, rolling bandages is a great service opportunity for all ages! For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many

thanksgivings to God (2 Corinthians 9:12).
