Mudra Cuff is constructed with 3 strands of I-cord that have beads slipped up in between the cord’s stitches. The beaded sections have smaller size 8 beads surrounding a larger accent bead. This design is perfect for playing with color and best of all is FUN to knit!

NOTES Working I-Cord - I-cord needs to be worked on double pointed needles. Knit one row, and DO NOT turn the work. Slide your work to the other end of your double pointed needle. The working yarn will be at the “wrong” side of your work. Pull the working yarn around the back of your work and knit the next row. Continue in this way, not turning your work, and sliding the sts at the end of every row. Easy!

Slip 1 bead- Simply slide bead up to the right hand ndl as far as it will go and then work the next stitch. This will lock the bead in between two stitches.
CUFF String beads onto yarn as follows with a dental floss threader: 6A, [1B, 12A] eleven times, 1B, 6A.
Strand – Work three times, once for each ring on the clasp, starting at the right side with the clasp pulled apart thread the first ring onto the end of yarn and slide it down past the end of the yarn you will use to cast on. Using a long tail cast on, cast on 2 sts, slide up clasp and then thread tail of yarn through clasp as well, cast on 2 more sts. [4 sts on ndl] Working I-cord throughout, work as follows: Work 3 (6, 9) rows. *[K2, sl1bead, k2] for 3 rows. K2, sl2beads, k2. K2, sl3beads, k2. K2, sl2beads, k2. [K2, sl1bead, k2] for 3 rows. Work 1 row. Repeat from * 3 more times. Work 2 (5, 8) rows. Cut yarn leaving a 8 inch tail. K2, thread the corresponding ring of second side of clasp onto yarn, slide it up so that it is touching last st worked on the right hand ndl, k2. Make sure the clasp lines up correctly. Bind off 1 st, slide the cut end of yarn through clasp again, bind off the remaining sts. Weave in all ends, making sure to thread the ends through the rings a few times to secure the clasp. © Laura Nelkin 2012. No duplicating except for personal use.
