Strength & Conditioning is the cornerstone of any great football team. We have made huge strides in all aspects of Mustang Football and the next major hurdle we face is increasing our numbers in the weight room. Size, Strength and Speed are skill sets for this sport. We can change the offensive or defensive schemes, move players to different positions and improve our coaching, but this will only get us so far in winning football games. The real key to winning football games year in and year out is the work you do in the weight room! Below is a look at the gains we have made as a team since June 2014 to February 2015 274lbs

Nutrition Information Have you ever used the phrase “You are eating us out of house and home!” If you haven’t, then you soon will be. Many of your sons are trying to put on weight. At the end of the season I sat down with every player in our program and talked with them about their future goals (Academic, Athletic and Personal). One of the goals I discussed with him was their size for the position they play. Each player will receive a Nutrition Manual after spring break that will help guide them along the way. It takes 3,500 calories to swing a 1lb in one direction or the other. On average the typical high school football player burns around 3,000-4,000 calories on an average day. For example, if your son weighs 170lbs and he is trying to become 190lbs by next fall. This is 20lbs in 7months, which is about .71lbs a week . In order to reach this he must “Bank” around 357 calories a day and in order to do this will need to eat around 3,357—4,357 calories a day.
